Hey guys,

“Excuse me, could I get one skewer each of your recommended Red Bull and Beacook skewers?”
“Sure thing! Just a moment. Say, young man, you’re not from around here, are you?”
The bearded man running the food stall spoke to me while working his magic on the grill. Perfect—I’d been wanting to learn more about the local specialties.
“Yeah, I’m traveling from a country pretty far from here. I just arrived in this town today after leaving Luxeria.”
“Ah, I see! Well, our town isn’t as grand as Luxeria, but I hope you enjoy your time here. Here you go!”
I took the two skewers, handed over the payment, and thanked him. The price was around 300 yen per skewer in Japanese currency.
“These are amazing! The fat is rich, and the flavor of this salted sauce is incredible!”
Both skewers were delicious! The meat tasted different from beef, pork, or chicken, offering a unique flavor. Skewers are typically paired with a sweet-savory sauce or salt, and this stall’s salty marinade was refreshingly light and delicious. For street food at this price, this was an incredible deal!
“You’re enjoying that, huh? That salt marinade is a family recipe passed down since my grandpa’s time!”
“That explains the amazing flavor! Are Red Bull and Beacook popular meats in this area?”
“Yeah, they’re among the best meats you can get around here. Truth be told, wyvern meat is the real star in these parts, but it’s too pricey for me to serve at a stall. If you’ve got the cash, there’s a restaurant over there that serves it. You should check it out!”
“Wyvern!! Thank you! I’ll definitely go!”
Ah, the wonders of another world! Who would’ve thought I’d get to try wyvern meat so soon? I don’t know much about this world’s wyverns, but they’re probably considered dragons, right?
After finishing the skewers, I headed to the restaurant the stall owner recommended. The place looked a bit upscale, and a meal here would likely cost tens of thousands of yen in Japan. Since I’ve got plenty of money in this world and no pressing need to save it, why not splurge?
“Thank you for waiting. Here is your wyvern steak, wyvern stew, and wyvern tail soup.”
Wow!!
This is amazing—wyvern cuisine in all its glory! With money to spare, I decided to indulge and order three dishes.
“Our steak uses wyvern sirloin. The stew is made by slow-cooking the leg meat, and the tail, being tougher, has been simmered for hours to create this salty soup.”
“I see, thank you.”
The waiter’s explanation matched the refined ambiance of the restaurant. His attire and service were impeccable, fitting for such a high-end establishment. The other diners were mostly nobles and merchants, making me the only one dressed like an adventurer.
“Well then, let’s dig in!”
I started with the wyvern steak. The beautifully seared meat rested on a sizzling plate. As I sliced into it, the knife glided effortlessly through the tender flesh. I carefully lifted a piece with my fork and brought it to my mouth.
The meat was unexpectedly soft, and its juices burst with flavor as I bit into it. The savory richness of the fat and the robust taste of the rare meat filled my senses. The simple seasoning of salt and pepper enhanced the meat’s natural taste. This might just be the best meat I’ve ever had.
It’s incredible! This could even rival Japan’s top-grade A5 wagyu(TL/N: Type of Beef)! Not that I’ve ever had such luxurious meat to compare it to.
Before I realized it, I’d devoured all three dishes—the steak, stew, and soup. Each was spectacular. I felt completely satisfied.
“Did everything meet your expectations?”
The older waiter returned to clear the dishes and pour me some tea.
“Yes, absolutely! Every dish was fantastic. Wyvern meat is delicious!”
“I’m delighted to hear that. Our wyvern meat is sourced by skilled adventurers we hire to hunt in the northern mountain range near this town.”
So, the northern mountains are home to both dragons and wyverns, huh?
“No wonder it’s so good.”
“We’re honored to have such an appreciative guest. Please take your time to relax.”
The excellent service and atmosphere made this a truly wonderful restaurant. Thanks to teleportation magic, I can revisit this town anytime. I’ll definitely be back!
“Did you hear? It seems the lord of this town might not have much time left.”
“Yes, it’s truly unfortunate. He’s one of those rare lords who cares for merchants and common folk alike.”
“I heard he’s suffering from an extremely rare illness, and they’re struggling to create the medicine he needs. Even if they manage it, it might be too late.”
“That’s heartbreaking. All we can do is pray.”
“Indeed. Apologies for bringing this up during your meal. Let’s enjoy the wyvern dishes while we can!”
I overheard this conversation between two well-dressed merchants at the next table while sipping my tea. It seems the town’s lord is gravely ill with a rare disease.
How sad. If it were an injury, I could’ve snuck in with my stealth skills and healed him with magic. But the magic I know doesn’t work on illnesses. Like the merchants, all I can do is hope for his recovery.
Despite the somber news, the wyvern cuisine was outstanding, and the restaurant left a great impression. I left a generous tip and stepped out, satisfied.
Now that I’m full, it’s time to continue my journey!
