Hello guys,
First of all, we would like to apologize for disappearing without notice. Some problem suddenly came up with the hosting service we were using so we had to migrate our website. It took some time but we are finally up and running again. We will try to make sure that this does not happen again.

Additionally, this sudden migration has put a strain on our finances, so we need your support more than ever. As for how you can support us, we have listed that below:

Once again, we would like to apologize for the inconvenience caused. We hope that you will continue to support us.

"For the time being, you will all be learning the common sense of this world. Additionally, for those whose jobs have been determined, you will be assigned instructors for training in the afternoon, tailored to your specific professions. The selection of instructors is currently underway, so training will begin once all selections have been made—"

Hmm, I wonder what's going to happen to me since I’m jobless. That’s something I’m really curious about. Also, what kind of jobs did my classmates get? Are there heroes among them, maybe?

"For now, dinner will be brought to this room, so please remain here."

I was only half-listening to the explanation, but it seemed the briefing was over. The two in priest robes left the room, and now it was just us classmates.

Suddenly, a large sigh could be heard, and before we even had a chance to relax, a woman in a maid outfit entered the room, pushing a cart.

"Thank goodness, I was starving," said Shimizu Masayoshi, breaking the silence first.

"Yeah, it’s hard to think straight when you’re hungry," agreed Mei Nagai, the vice president of the student council, who was sitting beside him. They seemed quite close.

"Dinner is ready. Please let me know if you would like more. Once you’re finished, we will guide you to your rooms. You can rest until the lecture tomorrow morning."

After the food was placed on the table, one of the maids announced this while standing by the door.

The room was filled with a delicious aroma, and the food looked really appetizing. I had no idea what to expect from food in another world, but so far, the only potential issue might be the taste.

"Alright, let’s eat," Shimizu said, signaling the start of the meal.

Dinner was delicious. I didn’t know what ingredients were used, but the look and flavor were reminiscent of Western cuisine. There was no rice, only bread, but since it was my first meal in this other world, I’ll be hopeful for the future.

"Still, an individual room, huh?"

After dinner, I was shown to a room. I looked around. It was a small room, only about three tatami mats in size, with just a bed in it—pretty cramped. There was no table or chair, so it seemed like I couldn’t do anything here other than sleep.

I hadn’t seen the other rooms, so I wasn’t sure if I was the only one with such a small room.

"By the way, no one mentioned this, but since we’re in another world, I should give this a try… Status Open."

Nothing happened.

Hmm, I heard about skills from the god, so I thought there might be something like a status screen. And then there’s that crystal—what exactly is it using to determine someone’s job?

I had no idea, and there wasn’t much else to do. I didn’t have any close classmates, so I might as well sleep.

Given everything that happened today, I quickly fell asleep once I got into bed.

The next morning, I was woken up early and, for some reason, found myself peeling strange vegetables in a kitchen. Weren’t they supposed to teach me about the common sense of this world? And wait, since I’m helping prepare breakfast, it’s still super early. Hopefully, I’ll get to attend a lecture later.

"Hey, kid. I heard you ended up being jobless."

"Uh, yeah…"

The tan-skinned sous chef, who was showing me how to work, immediately brought up the topic of jobs.

"Well, only about half of the people here even get a job. No need to get so down about it. If you keep working like this, you might end up with one eventually. Hahaha!"

So now I have no chance of getting any lectures, and they expect me to keep working forever. Is this what life is like for the jobless? Though he did say there’s a chance I might eventually get a job… it doesn’t sound very likely.

"Only half?"

"Yep, around 40%. Out of that, maybe half get a fully visible job, while the others have a faint display. Even that’s better than being jobless, though."

I see. So even with her faint job display, Yuzuki is still somewhat useful. But considering the effort they went through to summon us, if all they got was someone barely better than a regular person, that seems pretty underwhelming.

"Alright, breakfast’s done! Let’s go eat!"

The sous chef placed the finished breakfast on a cart and handed it over to the maids. Then, he invited me to join the cooks for a meal.

Uh, the food the maids just took is probably going to my classmates, right? From what I can gather, I’ll be eating with the kitchen staff. I have a bad feeling about this...

I followed along, clearing a corner of the kitchen table with the other cooks, and ate breakfast.

"Oh, this is good!"

"Haha! Of course it is!"

"The sous chef’s meals are even better than the ones we serve normally!"

Someone shared a fun fact about the sous chef. Despite my concerns about how I was being treated, the kitchen staff seemed to treat me, a jobless person, like any other.

And that bad feeling I had earlier? It was right.

No lectures on common sense or training took place. And I didn’t get to interact with any of my classmates. Instead, I spent the entire week doing kitchen prep and other menial tasks.
