It was a super play parade.
The opponents were truly all first-string players from MBS, and Lee Shin was defeating them one by one.
The highlight was the match against the human player Kim Young-pyo.
Kim Young-pyo was the type who was strong in human vs. human matchups, and was infamous for turning such battles into long, sleep-inducing marathons.
But the match against Lee Shin left no time for drowsiness.
Kim Young-pyo quickly led his troops down to the front lines and confined Lee Shin to the 6 o’clock, 7 o’clock, and 9 o’clock positions.
It was a strategy to take control of the remaining areas and gain overwhelming resource superiority in a drawn-out game.
However, Lee Shin calmly gathered the maximum population of 200 units and launched a counterattack.
Lee Shin once again showcased his Defensive Mine Control.
Two high-speed tanks covered by Defensive Shields charged into the enemy’s defense line.
They planted two mines, and immediately two tactical satellites reapplied Defensive Shields to those mines.
The mines, protected by Defensive Shields, withstood concentrated fire from Kim Young-pyo’s high-speed tanks and exploded along with numerous nearby units.
Lee Shin swiftly broke through the now-breached defenses.
“Uwaaahhh!!”
Park Han-young exclaimed as if he might faint from shock. The chat was flooded with viewers’ astonishment.
- Defensive mines 😭
- Ipsfe prophecy fulfilled again!
- He just pulls that off like it’s nothing. ;;;
- Oh my God!! ㅇㅁㅇ!
- I was a dark priest all this time. I’ll return to the Church of Lee Shin, oh God ㅠㅠ
Lee Shin immediately advanced toward Kim Young-pyo’s main base at 1 o’clock.
The main base was crucial because it housed the mechanized depots that produced units and absolutely had to be defended.
Kim Young-pyo gathered all his forces at the 1 o’clock base to build a defensive line. It was a reasonably quick response.
But Lee Shin simply planted a large number of mines in front of the 1 o’clock base and redirected his attack toward the expansion bases at 3 and 5 o’clock simultaneously.
Realizing it too late, Kim Young-pyo tried to move his forces to protect the expansions, but the mines in front delayed him.
Lee Shin swept through the two expansion bases like a storm and then retreated like an ebbing tide.
However, small squads of high-speed tanks remained and conducted guerrilla raids across various locations.
While Kim Young-pyo was distracted by the guerrilla attacks, Lee Shin’s bases and forces increased exponentially.
He was stronger in expansion and mass production than even in his prime.
- He’s way more stable than before, or is it just me?
- Nope, you're right. I felt that too.
- Before, he would endlessly harass the opponent to death, but now he’s balancing harassment with expansion and production.
- It’s like Choi Young-joon and Lee Shin fused. NEO Shin God!
- He’s even more advanced than before 😭
- But maybe the tempo’s a bit slower?
- Nah, it just looks slower because he’s balancing expansion and production.
- Agreed. To move an army that size at that speed is insanely fast.
- Man, I was seriously worried he’d become trash with age and injuries. LOL Who was I even worried about? LOL
And then, three minutes later, the match was decided.
Kim Young-pyo, worn down by Lee Shin’s fast tempo, built a ton of air transports to overcome the difference in unit mobility.
He loaded them with troops and sent them off, but Lee Shin anticipated it and countered with stealth fighters, shooting them all down.
Immediately afterward, Kim Young-pyo declared GG.
Stardust rained down.
A smile crept onto Park Han-young’s lips. There were still six games left. It looked like today he could sweep all of PaprikaTV’s viewers.
[godiswatching: Leader!]
One day, while enjoying her break at the villa, a chat message popped up for her.
[Yes?]
[godiswatching: Check the chat window right now!]
[Okay, okay.]
She opened her laptop and logged into the chat.
- virtuejusticefaith: What’s going on?
- LeeShinMartyr: Leader! 😭
- godiswatching: We have a serious problem!
One by one, the high priests gathered in the chatroom began raising their voices.
Apparently, some BJ from Paprika was freely broadcasting Lee Shin’s replay files for money!
And it was the replay file of the test where Lee Shin wiped out all 10 of MBS’s first-string players!
Her eyes blazed with fury.
- virtuejusticefaith: Looks like someone from the team leaked it.
- LeeShinMartyr: Shouldn’t we report him? How dare he use our God for profit!
- godiswatching: Of course, Lee Shin’s gameplay is art, but still…!
- virtuejusticefaith: First, we need to stop the broadcast. If we react late, they’ll have already enjoyed the whole show. What’s the BJ’s name?
- iwanttobegod'sclothes: Park Han-young. He’s around 20. Still young, probably doesn’t grasp the gravity of what he’s done.
- virtuejusticefaith: Okay.
With a cold glint in her eye, she pulled out her smartphone.
‘Where’s the PaprikaTV CEO’s number again?’
She scrolled through her contacts and found it.
‘You’re dead!’
She growled and pressed the call button.
- “Hello?”
A relatively young male voice, likely in his late 30s, typical for a businessman, came through.
“This is Ji Soo-min.”
- “Oh my, Vice President Ji Soo-min. What’s the matter?”
“There’s a BJ named Park Han-young currently broadcasting a match using an illegally obtained replay file. Are you just going to leave that up?”
- “Huh? BJ Park Han-young?”
“Apparently, he’s a game BJ active on your platform. We’re preparing legal action on behalf of player Lee Shin. For now, stop that broadcast immediately.”
- “Ah, ah, yes!”
“Stop the broadcast immediately. Freeze all stardust earned from that stream. Permanently ban his account. Understood?”
“Y-yes!”
“The current time is 7:21 p.m., and depending on how fast you respond, whether or not PaprikaTV will also be held legally accountable will be decided.”
“I’ll take action immediately. Please don’t worry.”
“I’ll be watching.”
After ending the call, she contacted a lawyer to begin preparing legal action.
Finally, she sent a brief text message to Lee Shin, summarizing the incident.
It happened while Park Han-young was enthusiastically streaming his broadcast.
Suddenly, the video of his personal stream turned black and stopped functioning.
The chat window also froze, preventing anyone from posting messages.
Then, messages began to appear in the chat window:
[Hello. This is the operator of PaprikaTV.
This broadcast has been suspended as it was distributing illegally obtained video content without permission, which may be subject to civil and criminal penalties.
As a result, the stream has been terminated.
BJ Park Han-young's account has been permanently suspended as of this moment, and all stardust acquired during today’s illegal broadcast have been frozen and will be refunded to the viewers who gifted them.
We sincerely apologize to the viewers for this unfortunate incident and promise to do our best to foster a bright and wholesome streaming culture moving forward.
Thank you.]
The viewers were left dumbfounded.
It was a swift response that occurred just one hour and thirty minutes after the broadcast had started.
Typically, no matter what kind of streaming incident occurred, the PaprikaTV administrators would deliberately leave it alone until public controversy erupted.
Because of this, the viewers couldn’t adapt to this level of agility and were confused.
The most shocked of all was none other than the BJ himself, Park Han-young.
‘W-what is this?’
Illegal acquisition.
Subject to civil and criminal penalties.
Permanent account suspension.
All stardust frozen.
The operator's message was filled with terrifying words for someone who had just turned twenty.
‘This can’t be happening…!’
The color drained from Park Han-young’s face.
With trembling hands, he tried reconnecting to PaprikaTV and logging in, but was met only with the following message:
-This account has been permanently suspended. Login is not possible.
“N-no way!”
He tried logging in repeatedly, but kept failing.
“Just for a replay file? That kind of thing can easily spread online after some matches!”
Only twenty years old.
Having spent most of his high school years playing games on a pro team, Park Han-young had little education and lacked understanding of copyright and defamation laws.
Of course, he knew it might cause trouble, but he assumed it would all blow over without serious consequences.
Until now, PaprikaTV had deliberately used controversial BJs for noise marketing. Even if problems arose, they received only slaps on the wrist, and popular BJs with many viewers were usually protected.
Whether it was loud, obscene broadcasts, harassment, gambling, or nudity controversies, no BJ had ever been expelled from PaprikaTV.
That was exactly what Park Han-young had relied on.
But permanent expulsion…
That meant losing everything he had built so far.
Bzzzt, bzzzt.
Suddenly, his smartphone vibrated violently.
The caller ID showed the name Baek Ji-soo.
He must have seen the broadcast and was now calling after witnessing the situation.
But Park Han-young simply stared blankly at his monitor, unable to even think about answering the phone.
It was only natural, but many pro gamers had watched the broadcast.
In fact, they had played countless matches against MBS's first-team players and often encountered them online, so there wasn’t much new to gain from watching the match videos themselves.
However, Lee Shin…
The entire e-sports industry had been on edge, curious about how skilled Lee Shin really was if he was indeed making a comeback as a player.
That ability was finally revealed.
Only about four out of ten matches in the MBS internal first-team test had been released, but even that was enough to gauge Lee Shin’s skill.
“Wow… what is that guy even?”
Inside the JKT first-team practice room.
During a break after dinner, a young man muttered while watching PaprikaTV.
He was short, dark-skinned, and generally unattractive in appearance.
But when it came to gaming, he was widely considered the best in Korea.
Iron Wall Monster, Park Young-ho.
Even Park Young-ho was dumbfounded after seeing Lee Shin’s play in the personal stream.
“Is he a vampire? Doesn’t he age? Why is he so good?”
1 win, 6 losses in 7 matches.
That was his record against Lee Shin.
Park Young-ho had studied and trained rigorously to find a way to beat Lee Shin after suffering countless defeats.
He trained his defense to withstand Lee Shin’s relentless harassment, and that became the basis for his current Iron Wall Monster style.
But the Lee Shin he saw now through the personal stream was no longer the same Lee Shin from the past.
...He had evolved further.
His rapid harassment play was now perfectly blended with a macro style that focused on long games and expansions.
It was an evolution reflecting the latest trend of seeing the big picture and thinking long-term.
“Ugh, how am I supposed to beat this guy now?”
If it were the Lee Shin of his prime, he would actually have been more confident. That was the very reason he developed his Iron Wall defense strategy.
But seeing this new version of Lee Shin, like a fusion of Prime Lee Shin and Choi Young-jun, he couldn’t confidently say he could win.
Choi Young-jun, Hwang Byeong-cheol-the ‘Heretic’, Shin Ji-ho…
The aces of each team, considered top-class, were surely watching this too.
Just like him, Park Young-ho was certain they were all in shock.
