Hey guys,

At the back of the portable pizza oven is a fuel box where firewood or other fuels can be added to heat the oven sufficiently before baking the pizza. In addition to firewood, I used a fuel called wood pellets.
Pellets, which means "small grains," are a type of fuel made by compressing powdered sawdust. They're not only used for pizza ovens but also as fuel for pellet stoves.
With the help of Fia and Angel, I kept baking the pizza dough we had prepared in the now-heated pizza oven.
"Smells so good!"
"Yeah. That scent of melted cheese is mouthwatering."
Lange and Dolph looked hungrily at the deliciously baked pizza. I totally understand that feeling—the smell of freshly baked pizza is irresistible.
Since the pizza dough requires fermentation and takes time to prepare, I had already made it back when we were in the town of Al-Flare.
One might wonder if it wouldn't have been better to just bake the pizza in town and store it using storage magic, but it's the experience of making it in nature that makes it special. That's part of the charm of camping.
"The outside is crispy, yet the inside is fluffy! Then there's the tangy red sauce mixed with melted cheese—it's absolutely delicious!"
"Whoa, this is even better than bread! The meat, cheese, and sauce blend perfectly with the dough. This is amazing!"
Angel and Dolph were eating what you'd call the standard pizza—Margherita. It's a simple pizza with tomato sauce, cheese, basil sauce, and a few slices of smoked meat.
However, since we didn’t have basil, I substituted it with another fragrant herb that smells similar, so strictly speaking, it might not be an authentic Margherita.
"Hmm, this pizza tastes quite different from the red one over there. This one has a rich sauce and a strong meat flavor—it's delicious!"
"This one’s packed with meat and super tasty!"
"Yeah, that sweet-and-salty taste is amazing! Since the dough itself isn’t seasoned, the toppings and sauce have bold flavors. Man, this would go great with some booze too!"
Lilia, Fia, and Lange were eating teriyaki pizza. Instead of tomato sauce, I made a sweet-and-salty teriyaki sauce using soy sauce and sugar we got from the royal capital, and poured it generously over the meat before baking.
By the way, the meat was provided by Berna and Ferry, and it's far tastier than anything you could buy in Al-Flare. As Lange said, the stronger flavor pairs perfectly with alcohol. I'm even having a little drink myself tonight.
"This one’s sweet and yummy!"
"It’s marvelous! The salty, distinct cheeses combined with the honey from the Marble Bees create a flavor I’ve never experienced before!"
Ferry and Berna were eating quattro formaggi. As the name—quattro meaning "four" and formaggi meaning "cheeses" in Italian—implies, it’s a pizza topped with four kinds of cheese.
That said, there were only three types of cheese available in Al-Flare, so technically it's a tre formaggi, but that’s just splitting hairs. One unique feature of this pizza is the addition of generous amounts of honey poured over the baked pizza instead of just using cheese.
We couldn’t find honey in Al-Flare, but Berna and Ferry provided honey from a bee-type monster called the Marble Bee. According to Lilia, this honey is considered a luxury item. Given that sugar is expensive in this world, it makes sense that honey would also be pricey.
I’d seen it on TV once and always wanted to try making it. The crispy yet fluffy texture of the dough, the distinct flavors of the three cheeses, and the sweetness of the honey combined for an impressive result. Turns out cheese and honey go together way better than I thought.
…Well, I’m sure all the pizzas are pretty high in calories, but everyone else got some exercise in, so it should be fine. Ferry didn’t seem to move much, but using magic apparently makes you hungry anyway.
"Yeah, that was pretty good. The new shop has a wide space on the upper floor, so we might try baking bread or pizza there once in a while."
"Oh, I’m looking forward to that!"
"Sounds fun!"
While I don’t think I’ll be selling portable pizza ovens, it might be nice to have pizza again the next time we all get together for a barbecue.
Still, freshly baked pizza really is delicious. Building a full-fledged stone oven costs a fortune, but with this portable pizza oven, you can get one for just tens of thousands of yen, and it’s easy to carry around too.
It’s amazing how modern camping gear just keeps evolving—lighter, more convenient, and better in every way.
