Hey guys,

“...I see, so that’s how it is.”
After finishing our visit to the Grand Mage’s grave, we moved inside his house. I showed Ande the letter from the Grand Mage that had been placed on the desk when I first arrived in this world, and I explained how I ended up here and how I inherited the Grand Mage’s power.
“So, I’m not the Grand Mage Hardy’s apprentice. I’ve never even spoken to him. It’s just that, by chance, the door to another world connected to my room.”
“............”
Ande’s silence is a little scary… Unlike him, who spent countless years honing his skills, I merely inherited the Grand Mage’s power. If he were to get angry and call it unfair, I wouldn’t blame him.
“...Are you mad after all?”
“Mad? ...Ah, because you inherited Master’s power? That doesn’t bother me. It was Master’s will that the one who opened the door to another world, which he had studied for so long, would inherit all of his power.
Rather, I’m actually glad that someone like you, Masayoshi, who used that power to protect those important to him and who did not seek to kill me until the very end, was the one to inherit Master’s strength.”
…When you put it that straightforwardly, it’s honestly kind of embarrassing. Not to mention, near the end, I was fighting Ande with the intent to kill.
“More than that, I’m intrigued by the mechanism behind this magic that connects different worlds.”
So that’s what he’s focused on. He did say he created the Magic Eraser spell himself, so I guess his knowledge of magic is quite extensive.
“There should be a book around here where the Grand Mage wrote about the door to another world.”
“Oh… I’d love to read it later.”
I had tried reading it myself before, but I couldn’t make sense of anything written in it. While my language comprehension skill allows me to understand the written words, I had no clue what any of the magic-related content meant.
“I understand Masayoshi’s circumstances now. Well then, shall we go?”
“...Huh?”
“So this is a different world… It’s completely unlike the one I live in…”
“Hoo!”
“............”
For some reason, I am now walking along a Japanese street with Ande and Fūsuke. After explaining my situation to him at the Grand Mage’s house, we passed through the door and returned to my original world.
Well, I do get it. If there was a door right in front of me that led to another world, I’d definitely want to step through it. And it’s better that I came along rather than letting him wander around on his own.
At the very least, Ande no longer seems to have any intention of harming me. If he wanted to kill me, he could have done so at any time. …Though, I have been letting my guard down way too much. It’s only natural, given that I never really felt threatened by him.
“Like I said before, you absolutely cannot use magic here.”
I explained to Ande the basic rules of walking around Japan. Unlike his world, magic does not exist here. Instead, we have science, and we use electricity as a source of power.
Ande was truly astonished by the idea of a world without magic, but from my perspective, the existence of a world with magic is just as unbelievable.
“To think that not a single thing here possesses magical energy… This really is a strange world.”
“To us, your world with magic is the strange one… Oh, watch out, someone’s coming.”
As we walked down the street, someone approached from the opposite direction. However, they passed by without paying any attention to Ande’s outfit, which was full of things to question.
“...It really is inconvenient not being able to talk in public. And there are so many people in this world.”
Right now, Ande is using his stealth skill. I can still perceive him, but other people remain completely unaware of his existence. However, if we talk, his stealth skill will deactivate.
“Your outfit stands out too much right now, Ande, so you’ll have to bear with it a little longer. First, we need to buy you some proper clothes.”
Ande’s current outfit is straight out of the medieval era—a long black coat over it, making him incredibly conspicuous. Not to mention his striking golden hair, red eyes, and pointed ears. There’s absolutely nothing about him that doesn’t stand out. While someone this extreme might just pass for a cosplayer, it’s best to avoid unnecessary attention.
“Hmm, the fit isn’t bad. And it’s much cooler now.”
We stopped by a certain chain store that sells reasonably priced clothes. I picked out a proper outfit for Ande—just a simple t-shirt, pants, and sneakers. Now, he looks much more like a regular person from this world.
His red eyes are hidden behind sunglasses, and his long ears are concealed by a knit cap. Now, he just looks like an ordinary foreigner. With this, he no longer needs to rely on his stealth skill while walking around.
Still, I never expected Ande to be the first person from the other world to visit Japan. But now that I know people from that world can come here, maybe I could bring Sara or Lilith to visit sometime.
…Then again, Sara had just proposed to me. There’s no way I can go see her right now. No matter what answer I give, I need to think it through carefully.
“Now that we’ve got you changed, let’s grab something to eat. I haven’t eaten anything since this morning, so I’m starving.”
“Very well, I don’t mind.”
