Berna took down the Black Bull in an instant, and Ferry stored its materials using storage magic. We then continued our journey toward the royal capital.

Fortunately, there were no further troubles along the way, and just as the sun began to set, we reached our destination—a riverside spot where we would be camping for the night.

“Still, that was incredibly fast. I can’t believe we didn’t even need to take a break.”

The Sleipnir Ferry had summoned ran without stopping the entire way.

“Sleip, good work. I’ll summon you again when it’s time for food.”

“Bluooo!”

With a wave of Ferry’s staff, a magic circle appeared beneath the Sleipnir, and it slowly faded away. Hmm, I still don’t understand how summoning magic works…

“Alright, let’s set up camp before it gets completely dark.”

“Yes. Let’s split up as we discussed in the carriage.”

Since we were camping by the river, we had to quickly set up our tents and prepare dinner before nightfall.

Lilia and Berna handled butchering the Black Bull we hunted earlier, while Dolph, Lange, and Ferry set up the tents, tables, and chairs. Meanwhile, Fia, Angel, and I took care of preparing dinner.

Camping gear and food supplies amounted to quite a lot of baggage. Without Lange and Ferry’s storage magic, we would have needed another carriage. Storage magic really is convenient.

“It’s fun cooking outside like this. And I’ve never camped with such a large group before.”

“Fia too! It’s so fun being together with everyone!”

“Yeah, same here. I’ve never camped with this many people before.”

Even in my previous world, I had never gone camping with a group this big. At most, it was four or five people, but this time, there were eight of us.

Unlike camping, in this world, there’s a real danger of being attacked by monsters or bandits. However, with two A-rank adventurers in our group, I wasn’t worried about safety at all. To me, this just felt like a fun camping trip with friends.

Besides, I had barely left Al-Flare Town before, so this was my first time camping since coming to this world. I was really looking forward to it.

“Tetsuya, we’re done over here.”

“We’ll help with anything else.”

It seemed like the tent and table setup was complete.

“Oh, thanks! We’re almost done here too, so could you go help Lilia and Berna?”

Since tonight’s meal didn’t require too much preparation, we were almost finished. They could help with the butchering of the Black Bull.

“Wow, everyone’s so fast. Alright then, let’s start dinner!”

Setting up tents and chairs aside, I didn’t expect them to finish butchering a whole cow so quickly.

Earlier, I had suggested adding a third person since two might not be enough, but both Lilia and Berna insisted that the two of them were sufficient. Turns out, they really didn’t need any help. That’s impressive.

“Tonight’s dinner is barbecue!”

“Like the one we had in the shop’s garden?”

“The one with that delicious sauce, right?!”

Now that she mentioned it, Ferry and Berna had joined us for the barbecue we held in the shop’s garden to welcome Dolph and Angel.

“Yeah, but tonight, we’re grilling mainly Black Bull offal!”

The Black Bull was a monster that closely resembled a cow, but its meat was said to be even better than beef.

And just like with regular cows and other monsters, its organs were considered a delicacy and rarely eaten. That’s because offal spoils quickly compared to regular meat, making it hard to come by in this world.

With no freezing or proper distribution systems, organ meats were an extremely rare treat. However, since Berna had killed the Black Bull in one clean strike and Ferry’s storage magic had preserved it fresh, we had the rare opportunity to enjoy it tonight.

“…Are organs really that tasty?”

“They don’t look very appetizing…”

“Well, yeah, they don’t look great. But they’re more nutritious than regular meat, and they have a unique texture that makes them delicious. That said, not everyone likes them, so if you don’t, we have plenty of regular meat too.”

Angel and Fia weren’t wrong—organ meats don’t exactly look appealing. I remember being put off the first time I saw things like tripe and omasum.

Lilia and Berna handled the butchering of the Black Bull today. Both of them were experienced adventurers, so dismantling monsters was second nature to them.

Normally, they didn’t eat organ meats, but today, they made sure to properly clean them in saltwater.

“I’ve also prepared plenty of sauces and seasonings, so eat as much as you like!”
