Hey guys,
As most of you probably know by now Disqus has stopped providing services to many sites and our site is one of them. Right now,
we are in the middle of developing our independent comment system. As of today(26 March 2025), we are releasing the comment with
Limited features. There are other features still under development and may take some time to roll out.
As always, please continue to support us. You can show your support in the following ways:
"That being said, we’ve never done escort work before."
"We only just became D-rank adventurers."
When we voiced our concerns to Fleur, she simply replied, "That won’t be a problem."
"The roads to the Commercial Capital are well-maintained, and monsters or bandits rarely appear. Besides—"
Fleur flashed a mischievous smile before continuing.
"Completing an escort request would bring you closer to C-rank, wouldn’t it?"
"Ahaha! That’s true!"
With that in mind, there was no reason for us to refuse. If anything, it was a great opportunity.
"By the way, when is the auction?"
"Let’s see… The next auction is in ten days."
Ten days, huh? That should be fine. The only thing we had planned was the wedding… Wait, that’s tomorrow!
With everything that happened yesterday, I had completely forgotten. Technically, everything was prepared, so there wasn’t an issue, but… Maybe we should consider postponing it. It would be better to resolve everything first before holding the ceremony. We didn’t have any guests anyway.
"Ten days from now, huh?"
"Yes. The auction itself will be held in ten days, but we’re planning to transport the goods next week, so we’ll be counting on you then."
"Got it. We’ll be ready."
After confirming the auction details with Fleur, we left the Rashiyu Trading Company.
"Hey, Rio."
"…What is it?"
As we walked back to the inn, I turned to her with a serious expression. She tilted her head slightly and looked at me curiously.
"It’s about the wedding."
"Ah, I was actually thinking about that too."
"You were?"
"Yeah. I was wondering if we should really go through with the ceremony tomorrow when things still feel unsettled."
"Ahaha, I was thinking the same thing."
It was nice to be on the same page with Rio. Maybe I was just being selfish, but I was relieved she didn’t insist on going through with it despite the circumstances.
"So…"
"Yeah, let’s head to the temple and see if we can postpone it."
Rio nodded firmly in agreement.
In the end, postponing was surprisingly easy.
"Tsk tsk, keeping a lady waiting won’t make you popular, you know?"
The priestess did make that remark, though.
Since the ceremony was usually just between the couple, there wasn’t much preparation required from the temple. As long as we requested it before the scheduled day, they were happy to reschedule. However, the donation we had made was non-refundable, even if we canceled entirely.
"Alright, that should do it."
The auction would last three days and take two days to reach the Commercial Capital. That meant we’d be occupied for at least two weeks. But in this world, anything could happen, so it was best to leave some leeway.
"Yeah, three weeks should be plenty."
And so, our wedding was officially postponed to three weeks later.
"Oh? I thought you two were supposed to be at the temple today?"
The next morning, when we visited Rashiyu Trading Company again, Fleur greeted us with a puzzled look.
"We decided to postpone the wedding ceremony."
After explaining that we wanted to settle everything first before celebrating, Fleur nodded in understanding, her smile widening.
"That makes sense. After all, we can’t truly celebrate until Triciliano is removed from the picture."
She flashed a rather ominous grin, but I had to admit—I agreed with her.
With that out of the way, today’s purpose was to sell off items that weren’t worth putting up for auction. Even so, a single Great Dragon over ten meters in length was worth over three hundred million Fron, so it was hardly "small change."
"It will take some time for these to generate profits for the company, but we’ll begin funding the workshops as soon as possible."
"That would be great. Thank you."
It would take time for the materials to be processed and sold, but getting the funding started early was a huge help.
"There’s one more thing I’d like to discuss…"
As we sat at a table in the corner of the warehouse, Fleur brought up a new topic.
"What is it?"
I took a sip of tea and gestured for her to continue.
"It’s about the production of the magic bottle. It seems our craftsmen are struggling to replicate it."
"Oh, really?"
I had thought it was a relatively simple process, but I guess my enhanced skills had made it easier for me.
"Yes. They can manage to create an air layer, but achieving a vacuum seems to be beyond their ability. Even the air-layered version takes a long time to make and ends up looking rather crude."
Even so, it was still more effective than the insulated cups Mimina Trading Company was selling. They planned to price it lower, but Fleur was hoping to find a way to produce the vacuum-sealed version.
"If that’s the case, I can make a few myself and deliver them at first. I can also personally teach the craftsmen if that would help."
It wasn’t that much effort for me.
"That would be incredibly helpful."
"Don’t mention it."
After settling the sale of our smaller goods, the conversation shifted to the escort request. Since we would be handling transportation, only one carriage would be needed. Considering the massive Earth Dragon we had to transport, I could see why they’d need multiple carriages otherwise.
By early afternoon, Fleur planned to submit the escort request to the Adventurers’ Guild. Naturally, we decided to go with her.
