Hearing Sariana’s scream, Beldran rushed out in a panic, but he wasn’t nearly as shocked.
"So, what brings you here today? …Actually, never mind that. I’m glad you came. I wanted to get in touch with you, but I never got your contact information."
"Ah, now that you mention it, we never told you which inn we’re staying at."
"…No, no, we’re at fault for not confirming it. However, due to delays in wood deliveries, your order is going to take longer to complete."
Sariana quickly composed herself and apologized, but that was exactly why we had come. In a way, the delay was our fault, so it wasn’t really a problem.
"It’s fine. We actually just brought some wood from the Rashiyu Trading Company for that reason."
"What!? Are you serious!?"
Beldran grabbed my shoulders and shook me vigorously.
"Grandpa!"
Noticing this, Sariana called out, and Clay, as if already expecting it, pointed straight at Beldran from atop Nir’s back. Nir, carrying Clay, moved up to Beldran so that their eyes were at the same level.
"Grandpa, stop!"
At his great-grandson’s words, Beldran snapped back to reality and, looking somewhat embarrassed, let go of me and averted his gaze.
"I did it again… My apologies."
"No worries. So, where should we place the wood?"
"Right here will do."
"Got it."
"Thank you so much. This is a huge help."
"Thanks, big brother!"
Sariana and Clay both expressed their gratitude. Clay was just too cute, so I couldn’t help but pat his head.
We retrieved the wood from the dimensional storage, and Beldran effortlessly carried it into the back of the shop. As we continued, Sariana also started carrying the logs inside.
That surprised me a little, but thinking about it, Rio could probably do the same.
"Gahaha! Now we can finish on schedule. I’ll make sure it’s top quality, so look forward to it!"
With that, we left Beldran’s workshop.
By the way, Clay, who had been sitting on Nir’s back the whole time, had dozed off at some point. His sleeping face was absolutely adorable.
"So, what should we do next?"
With our tasks complete, we walked back toward the inn.
"The only thing left is the fitting session for our tailored outfits, right?"
"The fitting, huh? When was that again…?"
Thinking back, I realized I’d been so absorbed in working with metal that I completely lost track of time. I hadn’t even had a moment alone to secretly finish crafting the wedding rings.
"Wait, it’s tomorrow!? I almost completely forgot!"
Rio let out a panicked voice as she checked the date.
"Tomorrow, huh…? Yeah, I forgot too."
"Weapon crafting ended up being more fun than we expected…"
"Ahaha! You get so absorbed in things, Rio."
It was usually me getting scolded for this, so seeing her flustered was kind of amusing. Her face turned red as she muttered, "Not as much as you…"
"But, you know… A sharp knife makes cooking so much easier. Some ingredients are incredibly tough to cut."
"Well, yeah, but you can just use magic to cut them. You don’t have to go that far for a knife."
"That’s true, but the same logic applies to weapons, so it’s fine."
As we talked about our plans, we arrived back at the inn. Our work for the day was done, and since we had Nir now, we needed to inform the inn to prepare extra food.
"Welcome back."
"We’re back. Oh, by the way, we’ve got an additional tamed beast now. Is that okay?"
"Of course. As long as it’s well-behaved at that size, it can even stay in your room."
The innkeeper gave Nir a glance before smiling warmly. Since adventurers with tamed beasts often stayed at inns, it made sense that they were prepared for this.
"That’s great. Thanks."
"He eats a lot, so could we get about five extra portions of food?"
"Understood."
Some inns have separate stables for tamed beasts, but this one, being high-class, naturally had those as well. However, if Nir could stay in the room, then I had to take this opportunity to sleep surrounded by fluff.
After bringing Nir to the room, we picked up our conversation from earlier.
"So, we’re heading to the tailor tomorrow, right?"
"Yeah. After that, we should visit the temple."
"Yeah! I wonder if temples look different in this country?"
Rio looked excited, but if the religion was the same, there probably wouldn’t be much difference.
"Ahaha! That’s true. But still, I’m looking forward to it."
Sitting side by side on the bed, Rio scooted closer, took my hand, and we shared a gentle kiss.
Watching this, Nir, who had been sitting in the corner of the room, stood up and walked over, pressing its nose against me.
"What, you too?"
Finding it amusing, I ruffled Nir’s fur—only to have my face completely covered in slobbery licks.
"Ugh, stop it!"
"Ahaha!"
And so, another day came to an end.
