Update:

Hey guys,
As most of you probably know by now Disqus has stopped providing services to many sites and our site is one of them. Right now, we are in the middle of developing our independent comment system. As of today(26 March 2025), we are releasing the comment with Limited features. There are other features still under development and may take some time to roll out.

As always, please continue to support us. You can show your support in the following ways:

"And in addition to the stick-shaped ramen, we have another new product this time! This one is a nutritional food that allows you to easily and efficiently consume the nutrients necessary for daily life in a well-balanced way."

"Ohhh!"

Apparently, this nutritional food contains the five major nutrients essential to the body: protein, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins, and minerals, all in a balanced ratio for easy consumption. Since the name “calorie mate” from my original world wouldn’t sit well here, I decided to market it as nutritional food instead.

"For those of you who can't even wait three minutes to boil water! And for those who are tired of hard, smelly dried meat! This nutritional food is not only easy and convenient to consume but also slightly sweet and delicious. Furthermore, it has excellent shelf life, making it an outstanding choice for emergency rations!"

"Ohhh!"

It does have a drawback in that it leaves the mouth feeling a bit dry, but compared to the dried meat commonly used as preserved food and emergency rations in this world, it is vastly superior.

For flavors, there are cheese and maple varieties. In this world where sweet things are less common, I expect the maple flavor to be more popular. In fact, all my employees preferred the maple flavor.

"Just like the stick-shaped ramen, we’ve prepared samples of this nutritional food for those of you who came early this morning, so please give it a try."

This nutritional food has a remarkably long shelf life. While it can’t compare to the individually wrapped and labeled products from my original world, its low moisture content ensures it lasts a long time. The stick-shaped ramen and the instant rice also have good shelf lives, but items like the chocolate bars and sweet bean jelly don’t last as long. Those will likely be sold as short-term snacks with a lifespan of just a few days.

"Whoa! This is amazing!"

"What is this?! I’ve never tasted such delicious noodles before!"

"It’s warm and perfect! This would taste incredible on a cold night!"

"Oh wow, this is sweet! Compared to that dried meat, it’s on a whole other level!"

The samples seem to be a massive hit with the customers.

I wanted to demonstrate the preparation process for the stick-shaped ramen, but boiling water and portioning it out at the storefront was too much trouble. So, I prepared the ramen just before opening and portioned it onto small plates.

"Hey, Tetsuya!"

"Good morning!"

"Good morning, both of you! Fia, that new outfit looks great on you!"

"Good morning! Thanks, Nicole!"

"Kyaaah, Fia, you’re so adorable as always!"

"Roya, Fal, Nicole. Thanks for lining up so early this morning."

While handing out sample products with Fia to the customers in line, I spotted some familiar faces. It seems Roya and his group also lined up early. I’ll just ignore Nicole’s usual antics for now.

"The instant soup from last time was super convenient and delicious. I’ve been looking forward to this!"

"It smells amazing! I didn’t have breakfast, so now I’m starving!"

"I heard there were samples last time, so I made sure to line up early this time."

"I think these are just as good as the instant soup. The stick-shaped ramen comes in soy sauce and tonkotsu flavors, and the nutritional food comes in cheese and maple flavors. Which ones would you like?"

"How are the flavors different? I’ve only heard of cheese flavor before."

"Hmm, it’s hard to explain without tasting them. Soy sauce is a condiment made from grains and is a bit salty, while tonkotsu is a broth made from animal bones. Maple flavor is derived from tree sap and has a slightly sweet taste."

"Interesting. Then I’ll go with soy sauce and cheese flavors."

"I’ll take tonkotsu and maple flavors."

"I’ll also go with tonkotsu and maple. Let’s share a little of each."

"Got it. There’s still a purchase limit in place, but if you like it, consider buying more."

"Here you go!"

Since Roya’s group is a party, they can share the samples amongst themselves. Just like the instant soup, there’s a purchase limit for these new products as a measure against reselling.

"Whoa, what is this?!"

"Mmm, so good!"

"Oh, this is delicious!"

I continued handing out samples while hearing the group’s delighted reactions.

"…We’re very sorry, but that’s all for the samples."

"What?! Right in front of me?!"

I prepared over 30 portions of the stick-shaped ramen as samples, but it seems there were more customers than that in line.

"We still have samples of the nutritional food available, so please choose either the cheese or maple flavor."

"Ugh… then I’ll take the maple flavor, please."

"Here you go!"

"Thank you…"

The young adventurer, with equipment similar to Roya’s party, likely a beginner, accepted the nutritional food from Fia. However, they stared enviously at the person in front of them enjoying the stick-shaped ramen that had just run out.

"Whoa! This is amazing!"

"I can’t believe something this delicious is so easy to make! I’ve got to buy some!"

"Ugh…"

The aroma of the ramen filled the area. Though this isn’t a food stall, the tantalizing smell was attracting passersby, some of whom were starting to line up, likely mistaking the shop for a food vendor.

The samples were only for today, though. The enticing scent might even cause trouble for neighboring shops. For now, I’ll focus on getting the shop fully open for the day.
