Hello guys,
First of all, we would like to apologize for disappearing without notice. Some problem suddenly came up with the hosting service we
were using so we had to migrate our website. It took some time but we are finally up and running again. We will try to make sure
that this does not happen again.
Additionally, this sudden migration has put a strain on our finances, so we need your support more than ever. As for how you can support us, we have listed that below:
Once again, we would like to apologize for the inconvenience caused. We hope that you will continue to support us.
"Oh, that's fantastic! Hey, Patrice, I’m leaving the rest to you!"
"Understood. Mr. Tetsuya, let me explain the details of the contract."
It seems Deputy Guild Master Patrice will handle the finer points of the agreement.
"Our request is simple: we’d like to stock the compasses you’re selling here at the Adventurer Guild. Rest assured, we won’t pry into your suppliers or production methods.
We’d like to purchase a regular supply from you and sell them for the same price as your shop—two silver coins each. At the guild, we plan to sell them for two silver coins and an additional one to two copper coins."
They’re even disclosing the guild’s planned retail price... But with that margin, the guild’s profit would be minimal. In my previous world, stores usually expected some discount when selling someone else’s products. I thought the guild might ask for a 20-30% discount.
"The guild’s profit margin from selling these compasses is, indeed, very small. When factoring in the cost of shelf space, personnel, and operating expenses, it roughly breaks even."
Before I could even ask, Patrice addressed my concerns. He’s a capable man.
"The Adventurer Guild’s priority is to ensure all adventurers have access to these compasses. Our goal isn’t profit. By reducing the number of adventurers who go missing, the guild indirectly benefits. Rescuing lost adventurers is costly, and fewer disappearances mean fewer resources spent on searches."
That makes sense. Fewer lost adventurers mean more missions completed and possibly lower costs for recovery operations.
"And since even a small savings of one or two copper coins can matter to rookie adventurers, some might still choose to buy directly from your shop. We’ll also prominently display your shop’s information alongside the compasses. How does this sound?"
For rookie adventurers, every copper coin counts. Since my selling price remains unchanged, having my products showcased at the guild serves as excellent advertising for my shop.
"That sounds great. I’d be happy to proceed with these terms."
"Thank you very much!"
"Alright, the deal’s sealed! That went smoother than I expected!"
"...Wait, did Rizac even do anything?"
Honestly, if Rizac hadn’t scared us so much at the start, the negotiation might have gone even smoother.
"Well then, we look forward to working with you!"
"Likewise, thank you for this opportunity!"
I shook hands with Rizac and Patrice. Hopefully, this marks the beginning of a long partnership.
"Lilia, thank you again for everything. You really helped me out."
"No, it’s us who should be thanking you. Like the Guild Master said, thanks to your compass, the number of rookie adventurers getting lost in the forest will drop significantly. As an adventurer in this city, I owe you my gratitude."
"I see... Even though you’ve helped me so much, let’s call it even."
"Yeah, let’s call it even."
After finalizing the deal, we waited as Patrice drafted the official contract.
Incidentally, I also inquired about selling the water purifiers we recently started offering. Apparently, the guild staff is already testing their functionality. They’re impressively quick to gather information.
Like the compass, the water purifier is an essential tool for survival in the forest. If it passes testing, we’ll discuss adding it to the guild’s inventory later.
"This completes the formal contract. We look forward to working with you."
"Yes, likewise. Thank you."
After carefully reviewing and signing the document, the agreement was officially sealed. Although I trust the guild, my inner salesman compelled me to double-check everything for potential issues.
The first delivery of compasses is scheduled for tomorrow morning. Since I’ll be closing the shop and searching for a new storefront soon, the timing works out perfectly.
"One more thing: I have a few requests for the Adventurer Guild."
"Hmm? What are they?"
"Go ahead, we’re listening."
Taking advantage of having both the Guild Master and Deputy Guild Master present, I decided to bring up some additional requests for the guild.
