A white girl was busily working her keyboard and mouse while sucking on a lollipop.

“Huh, a foreigner.”

Manager Bang Jin-ho was taken aback.

Although Korea was the birthplace of eSports, the English-speaking world now had much larger professional eSports leagues.

With solid investments and systematic structures in place, their skill level had long since surpassed Korea’s.

Yet, here was a Western player—on top of that, a female—coming all the way to Korea to compete in an amateur league. It was surprising.

But that was all.

As a foreigner, it was uncertain whether she could build a professional career in Korea.

Moreover, there had never been a female player who was considered a key asset in pro matches.

Manager Bang Jin-ho was about to move on.

But Lee Shin remained rooted in place, staring at the white girl’s monitor without budging.

“What are you doing?”

“Let’s watch a bit more.”

“Is there anything worth watching?”

“Yes. She’s good.”

“She’s good?”

It was the first time Lee Shin had given a compliment.

Only then did Manager Bang Jin-ho start watching the girl’s gameplay seriously.

Her race was human.

The opponent was a monster.

The monster had established expansion bases all over the map, producing units in massive numbers thanks to its overwhelming resources.

The girl was struggling to hold back the endless flood of enemy forces.

“If the monster has expanded this much, she’s already lost.”

The monster’s strength lay in rapid expansion and mass unit production.

That’s why when facing a monster, it was crucial to keep it in check early.

Failing to do so would result in exactly this kind of situation.

The girl’s loss was inevitable.

She had repelled multiple waves of the monster’s relentless attacks, but eventually, she would fall.

Yet, Lee Shin couldn’t take his eyes off her gameplay.

“Her playstyle… it’s similar to yours.”

Manager Bang Jin-ho commented.

Lee Shin shook his head.

“It’s not that she resembles me.”

“Come on, look at her building placements and control style.”

“She’s not similar to me—she’s imitating me.”

“……”

“From start to finish, she’s mimicking my gameplay. She doesn’t have any style of her own.”

“Really? Then there’s no point in watching further.”

Without a unique playstyle, she had no future as a professional.

Since she was copying Lee Shin—the so-called god of the game—her basics were solid.

However, simply following patterns without understanding the reasoning behind them meant her gameplay lacked depth.

Her control and speed were nothing special.

Manager Bang Jin-ho couldn’t understand why Lee Shin was paying attention to her.

‘It’s not like he’s never seen a foreign player before.’

Just then, Lee Shin spoke.

“She’s meticulous.”

“What?”

“She doesn’t waste a single unit.”

“Huh?”

Manager Bang Jin-ho focused on her game screen once more.

‘He’s right.’

In long matches, a player could have dozens, even hundreds, of units.

Naturally, managing all of them perfectly was difficult, and some would end up idle.

But this girl never left a single unit unused.

She kept track of every single one.

Meticulousness!

Memory!

Manager Bang Jin-ho felt a shiver run down his spine.

Among all the talents that made Lee Shin a legend, the most terrifying was his meticulousness.

And this white girl had that same trait.

‘But she has too many weaknesses.’

Slow hands, unrefined control, lack of aggression.

Above all, she wasn’t Korean.

Just as Manager Bang Jin-ho was about to dismiss her, thinking she wouldn’t make it—

“Let’s take her as a trainee.”

“Are you serious?”

“I’ll train her.”

“……What?”

Lee Shin spoke to the startled Manager Bang Jin-ho.

“I mean to raise her as a disciple of the god.”

“Hey, don’t spout nonsense. She’s a foreigner and a girl!”

“MBS lost Park Young-ho and had Shin Ji-ho taken from them, but do you know why they were still able to recruit a coach with a one-billion-won salary?”

“The hell are you on about? Why?”

“Star power. As expected of a broadcasting company, the MBS executives don’t care about players’ actual skills. That’s how all old-fashioned folks are.”

“So, you’re saying that girl has star power?”

“I can raise her skill level to a usable degree. That should be enough, shouldn’t it?”

Lee Shin motioned with his chin toward the white girl, who was on the verge of defeat.

“A pretty foreign girl with decent skills. That’s enough to make her a star. Given her potential, I can train her to barely make it into the first team.”

Manager Bang Jin-ho had no argument against that.

There was no denying that she had strong appeal. The MBS executives would definitely like that.

However...

‘Does he think the first team is a joke?’

Countless young players devoted their youth to it, yet breaking into the first team was like trying to crack a boulder with an egg.

Could that delicate foreign girl really pull it off?

‘Well, if he likes her, we can take her in.’

Bringing in one more trainee wasn’t difficult. And as Lee Shin pointed out, she had potential for publicity.

“Hey, wait a second.”

As the white girl was packing her equipment into her bag to leave, two people stopped her.

“What?”

She turned with a puzzled expression.

Among the two, her eyes landed on Lee Shin—and widened in shock.

“Kaiser?”

“Lee Shin.”

“Yes, Lee Sin.”

Her voice trembled as she stared at him in a daze.

“Do you not understand Korean?”

Lee Shin asked.

“Ah, I do. A little.”

She responded hesitantly in broken Korean.

“Excuse me, but may I ask your name and age?”

“Huh? Please speak slowly…”

“Name, age.”

“Judith Levelin. Eighteen…”

“Alright, Miss Levelin. Would you mind talking with us for a bit?”

“Okay.”

The black-haired, cute white girl nodded, then added shyly in a small voice.

“Please call me Judy…”

Manager Bang Jin-ho decided to stay in the center and continue watching the amateur league.

Meanwhile, Lee Shin took Judy outside and headed to a nearby café.

They found a quiet café, but the moment Lee Shin walked in, it was quiet no more.

“It’s Lee Shin.”

“Eek! It’s really Lee Shin!”

“No way! He’s so handsome!”

“Who’s that foreign girl?”

“Oh my! Oh my gosh!”

The café, and even the area outside, quickly became crowded with people eager to catch a glimpse of Lee Shin.

Lee Shin frowned.

The sound of smartphone cameras clicking was incessant as people scrambled to take his picture.

But while all this was happening, Judy simply stared at him in a daze, as if she were dreaming.

With the stress evident on his face, Lee Shin turned his gaze toward her.

Startled!

Judy had been staring at him, but the moment their eyes met, she flinched in surprise.

Without hesitation, Lee Shin asked her a question.

“Do you want to become a professional gamer?”

Judy’s eyes widened, and she nodded vigorously.
