"Why are there so many reporters?"
Manager Bang Jin-ho muttered with a weary expression. Director Park Sang-hyuk was just as tense.
It was their first time standing before such a massive swarm of reporters.
However, Lee Shin, wearing sunglasses, remained indifferent.
'This much is expected.'
Not only eSports journalists but even entertainment reporters had gathered.
Countless rumors had spread regarding Lee Shin’s severe wrist injury, yet no definitive details had ever been revealed.
Just when the buzz had started to die down, Lee Shin made a surprise appearance at a tournament, providing unexpected commentary and reigniting public interest.
It was only natural that reporters swarmed like bees.
Lee Shin pushed open the door and strode forward confidently. There wasn’t a trace of nervousness on his face.
"That guy isn’t fazed at all."
"He’s a born star, after all."
Manager Bang Jin-ho and Director Park Sang-hyuk hurriedly followed him inside.
Click! Click! Click!
Camera flashes burst wildly.
As expected, Lee Shin had worn sunglasses, so his expression remained completely unchanged.
"Uh… Our MBS team has decided to bring in Lee Shin as a coach to inject new energy into the team…"
Director Park Sang-hyuk began reading the prepared statement in a monotonous voice.
The reporters quietly waited for the statement to end so they could fire their questions.
Finally, the announcement concluded.
Reporters immediately bombarded them with questions.
Lee Shin raised a hand to quiet them down and began taking questions one by one.
"You were injured in an attack by an unidentified assailant. What are your thoughts on that incident?"
"I find it unfortunate."
The press conference burst into laughter.
Another reporter was called on.
"There are various conspiracy theories surrounding the attack. Do you have any suspicions?"
"As long as the perpetrator hasn’t been caught, there’s nothing I can say."
"Some rumors suggest that Hwang Byeong-cheol was behind it."
"I don’t repeat the same answer. Next person."
Lee Shin brushed off provocative questions without much concern.
But the reporters were relentless.
"Hwang Byeong-cheol won last year’s second-half individual league thanks to your injury. Do you agree that his camp might have been involved in the attack?"
Such an impolite question came from a third-rate sports tabloid journalist.
Without a change in expression, Lee Shin replied.
"Whenever Hwang Byeong-cheol faced me on a big stage, his mentality always crumbled. But I doubt he’d go that far."
Once again, laughter erupted among the reporters.
Manager Bang Jin-ho looked at Lee Shin with an exasperated expression.
'No wonder he has no friends, saying things like that without hesitation.'
"Have you officially retired as a player?"
"My wrist is gradually recovering, but a comeback as a player is still premature."
After several rounds of questions and answers, the three stood up together and posed for a photo, clasping their hands in unity.
The next day.

Ever since MBS lost its star ace, Shin Ji-ho, the team had faded from the spotlight.
But now, thanks to Lee Shin, MBS was back in the headlines.
Truly, the "Lee Shin effect"!
With Shin Ji-ho gone, people joked that MBS’s only remaining star was Manager Bang Jin-ho.
Regardless of skill, MBS had no players with star quality aside from Shin Ji-ho. But now, the team had acquired a new star!
Though, he wasn’t a player—he was a coach.
The photo of Lee Shin, Manager Bang Jin-ho, and Director Park Sang-hyuk quickly dominated online communities.
In particular, the sleek figure of Lee Shin in a navy-blue suit became a hot topic.
- Oppa in a suit ㅠㅠ So glad he’s alive! ㅠㅠ
- Oppa is back!
- It’s time to switch to supporting MBS.
- Just for the sake of seeing Oppa’s suit fashion, I need to watch MBS matches!
- I live in Busan, so it’s too far ㅠㅠ But I’ll buy online viewing tickets diligently. We must support our poor Lee Shin Oppa. ㅠㅠ
- Followers of the Lee Shin Sect, return!
- The god has resurrected! Lee Shin Sect members, assemble once more!
- I can already hear MBS tickets selling out.
- Lol, going to the stadium just to see the coach. Lol.
- What brand is that suit?
- Guys, any info on Lee Shin’s suit brand…?
- That suit was carefully selected through a vote by the Lee Shin Sect and offered as tribute. It suits him perfectly. ^^
- LOL, but no one in the comments is talking about MBS players.
- LOL, as expected, MBS’s invisible player squad!
- MBS players are famous for wearing invisibility cloaks as a team. Hahaha.
- It used to be Shin Ji-ho and the Dark Priest Army, but now it has become the true Dark Priest Army that serves the god!
Lee Shin’s return directly translated into increased visibility for MBS.
With the second half of the pro league approaching, MBS had encountered an unexpected windfall.
“I did aim for publicity, but I never imagined it would be this effective.”
Director Park Sang-hyuk was grinning from ear to ear.
Though he had worried about Lee Shin’s 100-million-won salary, he now realized that the sheer boost in the team’s recognition alone had already more than justified the cost.
‘Now, if only the team’s performance improves.’
It was a tough task since they had failed to retain ace player Shin Ji-ho, but if Lee Shin’s coaching helped the players improve, maybe they could rise from rock bottom.
Director Park Sang-hyuk began dreaming of a brighter future for MBS.
MBS was based in Mok-dong.
The team’s training room was located on the fifth floor of the MBS broadcasting station. At first glance, it resembled an internet café, but in reality, it was a place where many players had staked their lives.
At that moment, the players were deep in practice matches.
The door to the training room swung open, and two people entered.
“You’re here!”
“Hello!”
The players greeted them in unison. Manager Bang Jin-ho gave a slight nod.
Normally, they would give a quick greeting and return to their games, but today was different. All eyes were on the man accompanying Manager Bang Jin-ho.
“Alright, everyone, attention for a moment!”
Manager Bang Jin-ho clapped his hands and called out.
The players exited their games and focused on him.
“You all know who this is, right?”
Manager Bang Jin-ho gestured toward the young man he had brought along.
A tall 25-year-old, dressed in the navy-blue suit that had been all over the news.
Anyone in the eSports scene would recognize his face.
“I’m Lee Shin. Starting today, I’ll be your coach.”
Lee Shin spoke.
Since there were players older than him, he greeted them respectfully.
But the words that followed were anything but polite.
“My first goal as coach is to create a star among you, the so-called Dark Priests.”
The Dark Priests were a stealthy assassin-type divine race unit. It was also a nickname for the MBS players, along with "Invisibility Cloak Army."
As expected, every player's expression instantly twisted in discomfort.
