Hey guys,
As most of you probably know by now Disqus has stopped providing services to many sites and our site is one of them. Right now,
we are in the middle of developing our independent comment system. As of today(26 March 2025), we are releasing the comment with
Limited features. There are other features still under development and may take some time to roll out.
As always, please continue to support us. You can show your support in the following ways:
“…When you say maps, do you mean that thing you can purchase with your ability, Tetsuya?”
“Yeah. To explain to Berna and Ferry, I can purchase maps using my Store ability. These maps are incredibly detailed, and if I were to sell them as they are, they could be misused. That’s why I have the Adventurers' Guild create a simplified version that omits small villages, which is then sold.”
“Oh, now that you mention it, I saw those maps being sold at the Adventurers' Guild. Is this what you mean?”
“Ah, that’s the one! So, you have one too, Ferry?”
“We travel between various towns quite often, so we always carry maps with us. I thought it was just a new, affordable, and precise map being sold at the Guild, but it turns out this was also your doing, Tetsuya…”
Ferry pulled out a map from her storage magic—it was the simplified version being sold at the Adventurers' Guild. It makes sense that even A-rank adventurers like them would always carry a map. They’re not particularly heavy, and with Ferry’s storage magic, they don’t take up any space.
“When I bought a map while I was in Al-Flare, it showed the surrounding area of the town. But when I tried purchasing one just now…”
“I see… This one seems to be a detailed map centered around the Royal Capital.”
“Ah, here’s the capital, and over here is Eibra, the town we passed through yesterday. So that means the map is drawn with the point where Tetsuya purchases it as the center.”
“Yeah, I think Lilia is right. I should have tested it back in Eibra. I’ll try buying another map on our way back.”
It was only after arriving in the Royal Capital that I remembered the maps. I had always planned to buy a new map whenever I visited a place outside Al-Flare, but I completely forgot.
“…This is incredible. The locations of rivers and mountains are all marked in detail.”
“There are a lot of small villages I’ve never even heard of.”
Even Berna and Ferry, who are active in this area, don’t know some of the villages marked on the map. There might even be hidden settlements in this world.
“Also, I didn’t buy them before because they’re quite large and would take up space, but I’ll try purchasing the Monster Encyclopedia and the Plant Encyclopedia as well.”
I operated my Outdoor Shop ability and bought both the Monster Encyclopedia and the Plant Encyclopedia. I’ll ask Ferry to store them with her magic while we travel.
“…As expected, the contents are different from when I was in Al-Flare. Berna, Ferry, could you check them?”
Since I have no idea about the monsters and plants around the capital, I asked them to review the contents. Even at a glance, the monsters listed seemed far stronger than the goblins and wild boars that appeared near Al-Flare…
“Orc General and Red Wyvern… Yeah, these are definitely monsters that inhabit this area.”
Whoa… Just hearing their names makes them sound insanely dangerous…
Thinking back, I was really lucky to have reincarnated near Al-Flare. If I had ended up near this area, I probably wouldn’t have survived for even a moment.
“Yes, the plants listed here are also native to this region. …I had no idea this plant had such effects.”
“Seems like it works the same way as the map. Hmm, what should I do? I feel a bit hesitant about showing these to the Adventurers' Guild in the capital…”
“Huh? Why? I’m sure everyone would be thrilled to see them!”
…Yeah, if only everyone were as pure-hearted as Fia.
“I see. What you mean is that if people find out about Tetsuya’s ability, they might try to recruit him or send him to various places against his will.”
“Ah! I don’t want Tetsuya to go away!”
“Well said, Angel! That makes perfect sense.”
Angel explained it in a way that even Fia could understand. Looks like Dolph also didn’t quite get it at first.
Highly detailed maps and encyclopedias are incredibly valuable information. At the same time, they could attract a lot of trouble. If I’m not careful, I might be forced to travel all over the country to create maps, or even worse, be used as a spy in other nations.
I trusted Rizac and Patrice, the Guild Masters of Al-Flare’s Adventurers' Guild, so I told them about my abilities. But I don’t feel comfortable revealing this to the Guild Master of the Royal Capital, whom I’ve never met before…
“I doubt the Royal Capital’s Guild Master would do anything like that, though.”
Now that I think about it, Lilia used to be active in the capital’s Adventurers' Guild, so she knows the Guild Master.
“That’s right. That person doesn’t really concern themselves with national affairs.”
“They only care about adventurers and their own interests.”
“I see… Tell me more about the Guild Master.”
Since we’re visiting the Adventurers' Guild tomorrow, I decided to gather as much information about the Guild Master as possible.
