Well, it’s a school day today, but this week is slightly easier than usual because tomorrow, Tuesday, is a holiday. That said, personally, I feel like having a holiday on a Tuesday is the most wasteful option.

It’s undeniable that having Monday or Friday off for a three-day weekend is the best. The next best option is Thursday because it’s just one more day to the weekend. If the holiday is on Wednesday, it’s in the middle of the week, giving you a boost to get through the second half. But Tuesday? You go to school for one day, get a day off, and then still have three more days of school. Well, it’s not a big deal.

"Hoo!"

"Fūsuke, keep quiet outside, okay?"

I hid the shrunken Fūsuke in my hair and took him to school. Since he’ll probably be left at home when I go to the other world, I’ll try to spend as much time with him as possible here in Japan. If anything unexpected happens, I can just use teleportation magic to send him back to my room.

"By the way, I heard that the video of that trending factory explosion and the terrorist incident got deleted."

"Oh, really?"

Abe and Watanabe are as quick with information as ever.

"Apparently, even when other people re-upload the video, it gets deleted immediately! Rumor has it that some dangerous organization has taken notice."

"R-Really? That’s crazy."

...Deleting the video will probably just fuel wild rumors. What’s with the “dangerous organization” stuff?

But seriously, Mamoru can actually delete videos uploaded by others? He said he was cooperating with the police, so is he part of the cyber police or something? Hmm, mysterious.

That aside, school life has been pretty peaceful lately. Ryuichi and his group still don’t approach me, but it seems they’re keeping their promise not to bully anyone. They’re back to enjoying their lively lives like before, and I guess they’ve realized that as long as they keep their promise, I won’t interfere.

While I do have my thoughts about it, I’ve also been enjoying school life recently, so I don’t feel the need to interact with them either. Of course, if they break the promise or try to harm me or anyone around me, I won’t hesitate to take action.

Monday’s classes are over. It seems like there’s no problem bringing Fūsuke to school. Whether he finds it fun to attend classes with me is another matter, but when I asked him after school, he seemed eager to come along. What a cute little guy!

The only thing I need to be cautious about is gym class. Especially during soccer, if I accidentally headbutt him while doing a header, that would be a disaster. Well, the Grand Mage did say that he fought many enemies alongside summoned beasts, so Fūsuke, as a fellow summoned beast, should be fine in most situations.

Now, it’s holiday Tuesday. I plan to enjoy the fish and shellfish I bought in Rowan on Sunday. That said, while I often buy fish at the supermarket, it’s usually fillets or sashimi, and I’ve never filleted a whole fish myself.

So, I’ll have to ask Fara, the head chef at Lady Sara’s mansion, to teach me again.

As usual, I used the gate to the other world and teleportation magic to arrive in the royal capital, Luxeria. Fūsuke is staying home this time, but once the food is ready, I’ll summon him to eat together.

The royal guards dispatched by the First and Second Princes to protect Lady Sara are as vigilant as ever. The gatekeeper escorted me inside the mansion, where I was informed that Lady Sara was busy with her lessons today.

"Hello, Fara. Sorry for bothering you so often."

"It’s been a while, Master Masayoshi. No need to apologize; I’m learning so much from you. I finally managed to recreate cream puffs the other day. While they’re nowhere near the ones you gave me, Lady Sara deemed them passable."

"Oh, congratulations! Feel free to sell them if you’d like. Is shortcake your next goal?"

"Thank you. Yes, since I’ve mastered cream, I thought I’d try making fruit tarts next. I might also register the cream puff recipe. Of course, the usage fee will be paid to you, Master Masayoshi."

It seems they were able to make cream puffs using the ingredients of this world. Apparently, the concept of using eggs raw didn’t exist here. Finding eggs fresh enough to use raw and sourcing a vanilla-like aromatic tree took a lot of time, but they eventually succeeded.

"So, what brings you here today?"

"I wanted to learn how to fillet fish. I got some fresh fish and shellfish in Rowan, but I’ve never cleaned them before."

"Ah, I see. By using storage magic, you can always have fresh fish and shellfish available. Storage magic truly is convenient. Of course, I’d be happy to teach you. Around here, we only have river fish or preserved fish like dried or pickled ones, so this is quite exciting."
