Hello guys,
First of all, we would like to apologize for disappearing without notice. Some problem suddenly came up with the hosting service we
were using so we had to migrate our website. It took some time but we are finally up and running again. We will try to make sure
that this does not happen again.
Additionally, this sudden migration has put a strain on our finances, so we need your support more than ever. As for how you can support us, we have listed that below:
Once again, we would like to apologize for the inconvenience caused. We hope that you will continue to support us.
“Thank you very much!”
“Thank you very much!”
“…Phew, finally, the crowd has thinned out. Shall we take a break?”
“Yes! Today was amazing—so many more customers came than usual!”
“Yeah, it was quite a busy day. Even though it’s just a stall, I think more people in town are starting to notice our shop.”
It’s been a while since we set up this shop, and it seems we’re gradually becoming known in this town. Seeing so many more customers compared to when we first opened made me genuinely happy.
“The water purifiers and cooling towels sold really well… but the low table hasn’t been selling as much. Why do you think that is?”
“…Is it because it’s more expensive than the other items?”
Fia had a point. Most of the items we sell are priced between 1 and 3 silver coins. For novice adventurers, 5 silver coins might seem like a hefty amount.
For example, fire starters sell for 3 gold coins at other stores, which is quite steep. We offer them for 2 gold coins, and they’re gone within moments of opening, thanks to the daily “first three customers” deal. So, it’s not like 5 silver coins is prohibitively expensive.
“Hmm, maybe that’s it. Well, at least it’s not completely unsellable, so I guess it’s fine for now.”
“Hey there, Fia! Tetsuya!”
“Phew, just made it in time.”
“Oh, these are the new products, huh?”
“Nicole, Roya, Fal! Thanks for stopping by!”
“Welcome!”
Just as we were about to close up shop, Roya and her group dropped by. Since there were no other customers around, we could chat at a relaxed pace. They had mentioned during dinner the other day that they’d visit again.
“Wow, there are a lot of cool gadgets here.”
“This water purifier looks really handy. Being able to refill drinking water from rivers is a lifesaver.”
“And this cooling towel is amazing. In open grasslands, the direct sunlight can sometimes be unbearable, so having this would be great.”
I explained the new items we started selling today to Roya and her group.
“By the way, the foldable table isn’t selling as well as the other two. Do you think it’s because it’s slightly more expensive?”
I decided to share my thoughts with them. Since they’re active adventurers in this town, their perspective might be more insightful than mine or Fia’s.
“Hmm… the table is definitely convenient, but I feel like there wouldn’t be many opportunities to use it.”
“Yeah, honestly, you can just put your stuff on the ground.”
“Oh, I see… that makes sense.”
Their comments made me realize something. Unlike my previous world, this one doesn’t have the same level of hygiene awareness. People here often leave their backpacks and belongings directly on the ground. When we accompanied Roya and her group in the forest for a guard mission, they placed plates and cups directly on the ground or on stones without any hesitation.
Unlike camping in my old world, where it’s about relaxing and enjoying meals or reading, there’s no real need for chairs or tables here. Maybe the table would only be useful during long encampments or outdoor cooking.
“Still, as a small table, it’s quite handy and looks nice. It might work well indoors too. It could also come in handy for dismantling tasks,” Roya added.
“Hmm, that’s a good point.”
So, there’s some demand, but it’s not entirely practical for adventurers. The thought of someone using my foldable camping table for dismantling work is… well, fitting for this world, I suppose. Hearing input from experienced adventurers like Roya and her group was definitely valuable.
“Thanks for your insights. That was really helpful.”
Afterward, Roya and her group purchased a water purifier and cooling towel.
Today had been busy, but we managed to finish the day’s sales successfully.
After consulting with Lilia the other day, we set Fia’s wages at 5 silver coins. Since she helped out with the product demonstrations today, I gave her a little bonus.
For now, we’ll continue running the stall for a few more days. Then, I’ll take a break and look into renting a proper shop, as well as hiring a guard-slash-employee.
And most importantly, I’ll finally get some time off!
Ever since I came to this world, I’ve been working nonstop. If I didn’t rent the stall continuously, the location might change, and potential customers coming through recommendations could get confused.
Sure, I could take time off while still renting the stall, but as a penny-pincher, it feels wasteful to pay rent and not use it. It’s going to be busy for a few more days, but thinking about the upcoming break motivates me to push through!
