Update:

Hey guys,
As most of you probably know by now Disqus has stopped providing services to many sites and our site is one of them. Right now, we are in the middle of developing our independent comment system. As of today(26 March 2025), we are releasing the comment with Limited features. There are other features still under development and may take some time to roll out.

As always, please continue to support us. You can show your support in the following ways:

“Alright, for now, the next products we’ll put on sale will be outdoor spice, retort curry, and yokan.”

“Yeah, that sounds about right for the first batch. If we have too many at once, it’ll be tough to manage.”

“Agreed. We can gradually increase the number of products.”

After discussing with Mr. Lange and Lilia, we decided that these three products would be the next ones we sell.

...Well, all of these products were actually available for purchase when the outdoor shop was still at level 4.

While we were in the royal capital, Gregor, the blacksmith, had been making a large number of storage packs that we planned to use for selling retort curry and yokan. Thanks to that, we were finally able to put them up for sale.

These storage packs are made of a material that doesn’t let liquid pass through and is resistant to heat. The sealing part is double-layered, providing excellent airtightness. By sterilizing these storage packs by boiling them and then using my outdoor shop ability to directly purchase retort curry and yokan inside them, they become vacuum-packed, allowing for long-term storage.

“I’d also like to hire someone to wash the storage packs and wooden tubes within this week.”

Right now, the wooden tubes used for storing items like Alpha Rice, instant soup, and powdered broth for stick ramen are washed by the shop employees after business hours. However, if we add storage packs to that workload, it will take up a significant amount of time.

For that reason, we decided to hire part-time workers specifically to wash the wooden tubes and storage packs at night.

“That’s true. Up until now, it’s been quite a hassle. If we can get someone else to do it, that would be ideal.”

“If it’s just for a few hours at night, it shouldn’t be too expensive. The only issue is finding a place to do it every night.”

“Yeah, I don’t want my ability to be discovered, so using the second floor of the shop is out of the question. We need to figure something out...”

As Mr. Lange pointed out, up until now, we had been using the residential area on the second floor of the shop to wash everything. However, the second floor also contains items that aren’t for sale, as well as our dining area.

To be honest, I don’t want temporary part-time workers coming up to the second floor.

“In that case, maybe asking a restaurant would be a good idea. They already have a dishwashing area, so we’d just need to bring the wooden tubes and storage packs over. Plus, they have plenty of experience washing dishes, so they might take it as a side job while washing their own.”

““...Ah!””

At Mr. Lange’s words, Lilia and I spoke at the same time. It seemed like she had the same idea.

“I have an idea. It’s more of an inn than a restaurant, though. I’ll ask them about it tomorrow.”

“Oh my, Mr. Tetsuya, it’s been a while. Just the two of you today?”

“It’s been a while, Madam. We’re not here to eat today—we actually have something to discuss.”

“Tetsuya-nii, Lilia-nee, welcome! Thanks for the souvenir from the royal capital the other day!”

“Albera, you look well. I’m glad you liked the souvenir.”

“Yeah, you seem to be doing great. Sorry for the intrusion.”

After wrapping up the day’s business at the outdoor shop, I left the store in the hands of my employees and headed to the inn where I had first stayed when I arrived in this town, bringing Lilia along with me.

It was still a bit early, so the dining area wasn’t too crowded yet. In a little while, though, more guests staying at the inn and others who used it as a dining spot would start arriving.

After being guided by the innkeeper, we were led to the kitchen where the head cook was.

“Oh, Tetsuya. Thanks for the souvenir from the royal capital the other day. Albera’s really taken a liking to that doll. And those sweets were delicious.”

“I’m glad to hear that. By the way, it was Fia who picked out the doll, so I’ll make sure to pass your thanks to her tomorrow.”

When we entered the kitchen, there was a muscular man inside. He was the owner of the inn, and despite his bulky build, he was a skilled cook.

Since coming to this town, I had developed a connection with this place, and the food here was delicious, so I sometimes dropped by for dinner. Because of that, I had bought them some souvenirs from the royal capital, and it seemed like they appreciated them.

For Albera, who was about elementary school age, I had Fia pick out a plush-like doll from the royal capital. It looked like she really liked it, which was great to hear.
