Adult Shops and Spices

Eastern Word Smith/Outdoor Shop in Another World: Opening in the Adventurers' Starting Town!/Chapter 161
Update:

Hey guys,
As most of you probably know by now Disqus has stopped providing services to many sites and our site is one of them. Right now, we are in the middle of developing our independent comment system. As of today(26 March 2025), we are releasing the comment with Limited features. There are other features still under development and may take some time to roll out.

As always, please continue to support us. You can show your support in the following ways:

“…We visited some famous weapon and armor shops, as well as a few magic item stores.”

“…Yeah. For lunch, we wandered through the street food stalls near the market.”

“As expected, the street stalls in the royal capital have a wide variety of shops, and they offer plenty of rare dishes and ingredients. Everything was delicious.”

Dolph and I spoke with slight awkwardness, while Lange talked openly.

We weren’t lying. We just didn’t mention the one extra place we had visited. Still, that shop was something else… Just because this world lagged behind in culinary advancements didn’t mean it was behind in other areas.

The shop sold adult goods enhanced with magic tools, thick and gooey slime-based lubricants, and suspicious-looking aphrodisiacs made from exotic ingredients. Yeah, it became very clear that no matter the world, some things never change.

Lange bought a variety of items, but Dolph and I left without purchasing anything. Times like these make storage magic incredibly useful—you could buy things without anyone knowing.

No, I swear I had no intention of buying anything! I had already resolved to focus on Lilia. And even though I was extremely—no, overwhelmingly—curious about the brothels, I didn’t go!

“We had street food for lunch too! There were way more stalls than in Al-Flare, and it was so much fun!”

“Yes, they even had noodle dishes and stuffed baked goods that we don’t see over there. Everything was delicious. Perhaps we were in the same place as you, Tetsuya.”

“…Yeah, since we ate at the market stalls, we were probably in the same area.”

It was fine. I had made sure nobody from our group was around before entering that store. Checking your surroundings before buying dirty magazines or entering certain establishments is basic knowledge.

The innocent gazes of Fia and Angel were a little painful. But men are creatures of impurity.

“Speaking of which, I noticed that the street food here used a lot of spices.”

“Oh, I thought the same. The food here is more expensive than in Al-Flare, but considering the generous use of spices, it actually feels like a bargain. Just as Ferry mentioned yesterday, spices are becoming more widely available at lower prices.”

Just as Lilia pointed out, many of the dishes at the stalls used an abundance of spices. As spice prices drop, it makes sense that the quality of food would improve as well.

“I’ve heard that recently, spices have become more affordable in the royal capital. Before long, I believe Al-Flare will also see lower spice prices.”

“But no matter what, nothing beats Tetsuya’s outdoor spice blend. Just grilling meat or fish and sprinkling that on makes everything incredibly tasty.”

That mix was carefully crafted with a variety of spices, taking long hours to perfect the blending ratio. It would be difficult to replicate it in this world just yet. It’s a victory born of Japanese corporate dedication.

That said, with spice prices dropping, someone might eventually develop a blend similar to outdoor spice.

“That’s true. Just knowing that was a valuable find. When we get back to Al-Flare, if spice prices have dropped, I might start selling my outdoor spice blend.”

“That’s a great idea. Speaking as a former adventurer, it’s incredibly useful and would definitely sell well.”

“Yes, I agree.”

If even Dolph and Lilia, both former adventurers, believed it would sell, then there was no doubt. Any adventurer who cooks at their campsite would immediately understand the convenience of outdoor spice.

“So, it’s finally time to say goodbye to the royal capital. We had a lot of experiences, but it was really fun.”

“Yeah, traveling with everyone was so much fun!”

“Indeed. This was my first time in the royal capital, and I truly enjoyed it.”

“Same here. Traveling in a group is surprisingly enjoyable.”

“Of course, I had fun too. Being an adventurer and traveling solo has its perks, but group trips aren’t bad either.”

“I also had a wonderful time visiting the royal capital again. I would love to return someday.”

It seemed like all my employees had enjoyed the trip to the royal capital. Taking a break from work to visit different cities from time to time isn’t a bad idea.

“I’m so glad you all had fun. I enjoyed myself as well. Please visit the royal capital again anytime.”

“I also had a great time after so long. I’d love for us all to go on another trip together.”

Berna and Ferry had helped us out so much. If they had fun as well, that was all that mattered.

Maybe in the future, we could do another company trip to explore different towns.

…Well, since the royal capital’s cost of living was too high, maybe we should pick a different city next time. This trip was only possible because Ruhail from the adventurer’s guild covered our travel and lodging expenses. Moving forward, we needed to save up for a full recovery potion.
