Update:

Hey guys,
As most of you probably know by now Disqus has stopped providing services to many sites and our site is one of them. Right now, we are in the middle of developing our independent comment system. As of today(26 March 2025), we are releasing the comment with Limited features. There are other features still under development and may take some time to roll out.

“Even if we have a hideout outside the city, how are we supposed to get out? When we escaped from the Imperial Capital and arrived at this port city, we could just walk in normally. But now that there’s a capture request out for us, they’ll definitely be checking at the gates.”

“So, as long as we can get out without passing through the gates, it’s fine?”

Now that a capture request had been issued, sneaking out through the gates was no longer an option. In that case, the answer was simple—just don’t use the gates.

“If it were that easy…”

Ivan muttered, looking somewhat irritated. What’s his problem? Building a house is easy enough, and sneaking out of the city should be even simpler.

“We could fly over the walls, but would we get spotted?”

Rio raised a potential issue. It wasn’t impossible, but unless someone was actively looking up at the sky, the chances were low. Still, it was best to be cautious.

“Well then, this is a job for spatial magic.”

“Agreed. Let’s use Teleport.”

“…Wait, what?”

Ivan’s expressions were changing by the second. It was pretty amusing.

“Alright, I’ll head outside the city to set up the teleport coordinates.”

“Got it. I’ll keep watch here.”

“I’ll be back soon.”

“Wafuu!”

“Oh, you’re coming too, Nir? Alright, let’s go.”

Since I had finally learned to use Teleport properly, it was the perfect time to make use of it.

I memorized the coordinates of our current location—the abandoned warehouse—using spatial magic, then set off toward the city gates. Walking down the main street, I passed through the gate without any issue. The guards didn’t say a word as I exited.

After following the road toward the Imperial Capital for a while, I spotted a dense forest on the east side. Given its proximity to the city, there might be people coming and going. Expanding my presence detection into the forest, I sensed several figures. Likely adventurers on a request.

That meant we’d have to go deeper in. Getting spotted would be a hassle.

After venturing far enough that we were hidden from the road, I memorized the coordinates with spatial magic again.

“We can figure out where to build the house later. For now, I’ll head back to pick up the others. Nir, what about you?”

“Wafuu.”

In response, Nir let out a bark and climbed up a tree. Looked like he was planning to relax in the forest while waiting.

“Haha, don’t get into trouble while I’m gone.”

“Waf!”

Even if Nir was spotted, he had a familiar’s tag, so it wouldn’t be a problem.

Focusing on the coordinates I’d memorized earlier, I activated Teleport. For a brief moment, my vision blacked out, and in the next instant, I was back in the warehouse, facing Rio.

“Whoa!”

“Hweh?!”

Ivan fell flat on his rear, while Phonia’s ears twitched wildly as she let out a strange noise.

“Welcome back.”

“I’m back.”

“Oh? Where’s Nir?”

“He’s enjoying the forest. I guess he missed it after spending so much time near the sea.”

“Ahaha.”

“Y-You actually did it…”

“Told you, didn’t I? We’ll just use Teleport to take you outside the city.”

“But that’s spatial magic! It’s supposed to be a legendary magic!”

“It’s not that big of a deal.”

I shrugged at Ivan’s exaggerated reaction. Legendary? That’s a bit much. Some princess could use it too, if I remembered correctly. It wasn’t like I was the only one.

“There have to be others who can use it, right?”

Rio asked the same question I was thinking.

“I’ve never heard of anyone! I mean, I’m not an expert on magic, but even I know how rare spatial magic is.”

“Huh, is that so?”

“You sound way too indifferent about this!”

“Well, you know…”

“Yeah, pretty much.”

Rio and I exchanged glances and shrugged.

“I don’t really care if others can use the magic I have.”

“Besides, my master could use spatial magic too, so I never thought of it as anything rare.”

“I… see.”

Ivan suddenly softened, then began patting Phonia’s head. Maybe he was trying to distract himself from reality.

Now that I thought about it, spatial storage was also a type of spatial magic. Other than my master, I hadn’t seen anyone else use it. Maybe it really was rare.

“Alright, let’s get moving. Do you two have anything you need to bring?”

I looked around the room. Aside from a few tattered outfits and an old fur being used as bedding, there wasn’t much.

“Just some clothes and a fur blanket…”

“This is all I have.”

Both of them gathered their meager belongings in their arms. It was barely enough to fill one hand. I should probably get them some decent clothes later. Ivan could wait.

“Alright, hold my hand. Anything enveloped in my mana will be teleported along with me.”

“A-Alright.”

“Okay!”

Ivan hesitantly took my hand, while Phonia grabbed mine excitedly. Rio wrapped her arms around me from behind.

Focusing on the coordinates I had memorized earlier, I checked to make sure no one was around.

“Alright, here we go—Teleport.”

The moment I spoke the command, we teleported. In an instant, the salty scent of the sea disappeared, replaced by the fresh aroma of the forest.

“A-Amazing…”

“Wow…”

“Now, let’s find a good spot to set up camp.”

After reuniting with Nir, who had climbed down from the tree, I urged the still-stunned Ivan and Phonia to follow as we searched for a campsite.
