All of the other Saviors were safe.
When we reunited, we were so overjoyed that we couldn’t help but embrace each other.
And so, I decided to tell everyone about Ivy.
Ivy was a little scared at first… but in the end, everyone accepted her just as they always had.
“Anego is Anego. Whether she’s the Demon King or the All-Dragon, that doesn’t change a thing.”
I will never forget the moment when Ivy’s eyes welled up at Sanshita’s words.
Ivy is no longer alone.
She has done enough to be accepted by people other than just me.
And just as she was moved by that, my own eyes, feeling the same joy, must have welled up as well.
Now then, let’s talk about what happened after we defeated the Demon King.
The Demon King was defeated, and the world found peace.
And if this were a fairy tale, it would end with “happily ever after”… but reality is never that simple.
With the Demon King’s demise, the phenomenon of monsters going berserk around the world was prevented.
The absence of the Demon King’s Ten Fingers also meant that conflicts no longer arose across the land.
But, in a strange twist, humans began turning on each other instead.
Though the nations had been too divided to send their armies to the Demon King’s castle, they had apparently been united enough at the time.
Now, they’ve returned to skirmishing along the borders, and in the end, it feels like the conflict between humans and monsters has simply turned into conflict between humans.
—But still.
I believe the world has become at least a little more peaceful than before.
As for the fact that Ivy is the reincarnation of the All-Dragon, we Saviors all discussed it and decided to keep it a secret.
There are some things in this world that are better left unknown.
If a truth serves no benefit to anyone, then I believe it’s best left unsaid.
But that raised the question—who, then, was the one who defeated the Demon King?
“The hero who defeated the Demon King was Rey, a hero belonging to the Saviors.”
This was the official stance declared by the kingdom.
Since Ivy’s true identity couldn’t be revealed, the one to defeat the Demon King had to be Rey, her counterpart as a hero.
“I owe Ivy a lot… If this is all I have to do, I’ll gladly accept it.”
Rey is now renowned as the Hero Who Saved the Kingdom—an extremely famous figure.
Every country in the world is now trying to win her over to strengthen their own royal houses.
I do feel bad for the burden we’ve placed on her, so Ivy and I plan to do what we can to support him.
Incidentally, because we were in the same party as Rey, both Ivy and I have become fairly famous ourselves.
Oh, and the activities of the Saviors have been put on hold for the time being.
Everyone has chosen to walk their own paths.
Shannon, now an even more famous first-rank adventurer, is traveling across the world.
She wants to conquer every labyrinth while her body is still strong enough to do so.
Labyrinths are ruins left behind by ancient civilizations that perished centuries ago, and they are known to be infested with powerful monsters. But with how strong Shannon has become, I’m sure she’ll manage just fine.
Maria and Hamil are traveling around the Kingdom of Ilias.
They say it’s to learn more about the secular world, but with how much Maria seems to be enjoying herself, I can’t help but feel like it’s more of a sightseeing trip.
As for Icicle, he’s still devoting herself to building up industries in Akoup.
Now that he can control more than just insects, both Marquis Endlord and Jennifer seem to be getting quite excited about the possibilities.
And as for us…
“Fwaaah…”
“Miii…”
“The sunlight feels nice, de yansu…”
We’ve been living a cozy, comfortable life in our home in Akoup.
Or perhaps I should say, an extra-cozy life.
Eat, sleep, repeat. Then just bask in the sunlight in a daze.
After being so busy lately, it’s like we’re taking all our rest at once, spending our days in peaceful relaxation.
Napping under the warm sunlight is the best…
“Miii…”
As I lay on Ivy’s large back, my consciousness begins to drift away.
“Zzz…”
Beside me, Sanshita has already fallen fast asleep.
Letting myself sink into this drowsiness doesn’t seem like such a bad idea.
—I’m sure we’ll find ourselves running around again before long.
But as long as we can always return to moments like this, I think that’s enough.
Happiness isn’t something that suddenly rains down on you all at once.
It’s something that exists in small moments, woven into our everyday lives.
“Ivy…”
“Mi?”
“We’ll always be together…”
“—Mii!”
Hearing Ivy’s cheerful reply, I close my eyes.
The days Ivy and I longed for are right here, in this moment.
As we savor the happiness before us, we doze off peacefully, until it’s time for our afternoon snack—
