There is a Separate Stomach for Dessert

Update:

Hey guys,
As most of you probably know by now Disqus has stopped providing services to many sites and our site is one of them. Right now, we are in the middle of developing our independent comment system. As of today(26 March 2025), we are releasing the comment with Limited features. There are other features still under development and may take some time to roll out.

As always, please continue to support us. You can show your support in the following ways:

"Wow, what is this dish called katsu? It's way too delicious! The usual curry is great, but eating it together with this katsu makes it even better. And this is my first time eating Behemoth meat! Berna, Ferry, thank you!"

"Oh no, I'm just glad you liked it."

"………………"

As expected, Berna and Ferry seem to have distanced themselves slightly after hearing Lange’s earlier words.

Lange, on the other hand, seems to have given up on acting gentlemanly in front of the two and has returned to his usual demeanor.

"Lange, do you want seconds?"

"Yeah, please!"

"Tetsuya, me too."

"Tetsuya, I would like some as well."

"Me too!"

"U-Understood."

Not just Lange—everyone is asking for seconds. Even though the retort curry and alpha rice portions are smaller per serving, three bowls are still quite a lot…

By the way, I fried extra Behemoth katsu and had Ferry store them using her storage magic. This way, as long as Ferry is around, we can have freshly fried, piping hot katsu anytime.

Storage magic is seriously convenient. No need for a refrigerator—I'm so jealous.

"Ahh~ That was delicious! Tetsuya’s cooking really is amazing! If I go even a week without it, my body starts craving it!"

I'm happy to hear that, but the way he said it makes it sound like an addiction, so please don't say that in public.

Besides, since Lange helps with procurement under the guise of shopping, I always store extra food using storage magic. So even when he's traveling for requests, he should be eating food I made or products from the outdoor shop…

"Oh, that reminds me, Tetsuya. I know this is quite bold after such a feast, but would you be willing to sell me some of those sweets you gave me as a souvenir before?"

"I want some too! I'll pay!"

"Ah, the chocolate bars and yokan? Of course, that’s fine. Since you provided such excellent meat, there’s no need for payment. I’ll grab them from downstairs, so please wait a moment."

Since I haven't told these two about my abilities, I quickly went downstairs and discreetly purchased the yokan and chocolate bars.

That said, these two still have room for more? They've already eaten three bowls of katsu curry…

Especially Ferry. With her small frame, she managed to eat three bowls? I almost wondered if she had some kind of storage magic in her stomach—but that’s a secret I'll keep to myself.

"Ahhh… As expected, this sweet is simply wonderful! The faint bitterness combined with its rich aroma and deep sweetness spreads throughout my mouth!"

"...This one is amazing too! The chewy texture and unique sweetness can be enjoyed at the same time."

Berna and Ferry are both savoring their sweets. They might even look happier now than when they were eating katsu curry.

"So, in the royal capital, do they not sell sweets like these?"

"That’s correct. They do sell pies and cookies, but nothing with this level of sweetness."

"There are sweet fruits. But no sweets like the ones Tetsuya gives us."

So even in the royal capital, there aren’t many sweets this sweet. That said, cookies and pies exist, and it seems like they have sugar as well.

"Tetsuya, I noticed your shop doesn’t sell these sweets. Are you not planning to? I think they would sell well, not just in this town, but even in the royal capital."

"It would definitely be a huge hit!"

"The ingredients are a bit special, and they don’t have a long shelf life, so I’ve avoided selling them until now. But I think I’ve found a way to solve that issue, so I plan to start selling them soon. I’m not sure about the royal capital, though."

"I see…"

"That’s a shame…"

For now, I’ve confirmed that the preservation packs I ordered from Gregor keep the sweets fresh for at least a week. If they last a bit longer, I’ll place a large order with Gregor.

"By the way, which do you all prefer—the chocolate bar or the yokan?"

"I prefer the yokan. The perfect sweetness and that texture are irresistible."

"I’d say the chocolate bar. The way it melts gently in your mouth is amazing."

Hmm, so Lilia prefers yokan, while Lange prefers the chocolate bar.

"I like the chocolate bar."

"I prefer yokan."

Berna goes for the chocolate bar, and Ferry picks yokan. The votes are split evenly, but it looks like both sweets are well-received in this world. As for me, I like them both equally.

"I see, that was very insightful."

With the preservation packs, it’s still difficult to transport them all the way to the royal capital for sale. However, this world has storage magic. If I can find someone with high-capacity storage magic to handle transportation, it should be fine.

Of course, I’ll need to pay them a transport fee, which would make the sweets more expensive than if I sold them in this town. But even then, I’m sure they would sell.

The issue is finding someone willing to take on the transport and figuring out how much it will cost.
