Having the cooperation of two A-rank adventurers in case of emergencies is incredibly reassuring.
I initially intended to owe a favor to the royal capital's Adventurer's Guild, but if Berna and Ferry are also willing to help, it’s a great relief.
When the A-rank adventurers first visited this shop, I was worried about what might happen, but I’m glad it all worked out positively in the end.
"I’ll have the compasses ready by tomorrow. Please bring the payment at that time."
"Understood. Thank you very much."
To be honest, with the capabilities of the outdoor shop, I could prepare 100 compasses immediately. However, I don’t plan on revealing my abilities to these two, so I decided to frame it as needing to retrieve them from the warehouse and hand them over tomorrow.
"Tetsuya, the closing tasks are done."
"Ah, perfect timing. We’ve just finished talking here. I’ll come downstairs, so wait for a bit."
"Got it."
"Tetsuya, thank you for your time. We’ll take our leave now."
"...Lilia, we’ll be in this town until tomorrow. I’d like to go somewhere with you in the meantime."
"Sorry, Ferry. I’ve got plans with the shop employees tomorrow morning. But I’ll be free in the afternoon, so I’d be happy to go out then."
Oh, that’s right—tomorrow morning, we’re supposed to have a welcome party for Angel.
Still, if this is the first time in months Lilia’s meeting her friends, that should take priority. We can reschedule Angel’s welcome party for another day.
"Since they came all this way, you should prioritize them. I’ll check with everyone to see if we can move the date."
"Then why not have these two join us instead?"
"What!?"
At some point, Lange had entered the room.
"Pleased to meet you, ‘Berna, the Scorching Emperor’ and ‘Ferry, the Verdant Storm.’ My name is Lange, a B-rank adventurer. Tomorrow, we’re having a meal with the shop staff. If it’s all right with you, would you care to join us?"
Lange spoke with an unusually upright posture and gentlemanly tone, addressing the two with respect.
Even as a man, I couldn’t help but think Lange looked seriously cool. The gap between his usual demeanor and this one only amplified the effect. It was like a manga character surrounded by sparkles.
"Oh no, while the invitation is much appreciated, it feels improper for us to intrude on a meal for your shop staff..."
Berna decisively turned down Lange’s sparkling invitation.
She’s beautiful and seems popular, so I imagine she’s used to receiving invitations from people like Lange.
Shake, shake.
Meanwhile, Ferry’s rejection was even more emphatic. She seems like the shy type.
"That’s a great idea! Both of you, please join us! The food Tetsuya prepares is as good as dishes from the royal capital’s finest restaurants!"
Hey, Lilia!? They were about to decline! Also, could you not raise the expectations for my cooking like that?
It’s not that my cooking is amazing—it’s the quality of the ingredients and seasonings from the outdoor shop that make it so good.
"It’s rare for you to praise something so highly, Lilia."
"...I’m curious."
Wait, could it be that Lilia is picky about flavors? She’s been praising my cooking since we first met. Well, that’s thanks to outdoor spices and Japanese cooking techniques, though.
The two seemed a bit intrigued now. Maybe they’re both foodies.
"But there will be other people there, right? It feels like we’d be imposing..."
"It’s fine! Everyone would definitely be thrilled to talk to two famous adventurers from the royal capital. I’ll check with everyone right away!"
"Ah, Lange."
Before I could stop him, Lange went downstairs to ask everyone. He quickly got Dolph, Angel, and Fia’s approval, and their participation was decided.
"Are those two really such famous adventurers?"
"Famous doesn’t even begin to cover it—they’re incredibly famous! Both in skill and reputation, they’re among the top five adventurers in the royal capital!"
"Fia knows them too! They’re the adventurers who defeated a dragon, right? They’re talked about everywhere!"
Even Fia knew about them?
Dragon slayers... So this world does have dragons. No wonder they’re famous if they’ve got the title of Dragon Slayer.
"This is my first time seeing A-rank adventurers up close. Truly first-class adventurers are on a whole different level. As a former adventurer myself, I’d love to have a chat with them."
"I’ve heard so many rumors about them. It’s an honor to meet them in person! I’d love to chat with them too!"
Both Dolph and Angel seemed fine with their participation. In this world, famous adventurers are probably akin to celebrities or idols in my original world.
...Although, Rizac, the Adventurer Guild Master of this town, is also a former A-rank adventurer. He’s a great person, but it seems like strength and popularity are separate things.
Well, if everyone’s fine with it, I suppose their participation won’t be an issue. Since Lilia spoke so highly of my cooking, I’ll make sure to live up to her expectations.
