Outdoor Shop in Another World: Opening in the Adventurers' Starting Town!-Chapter 106

New Employee Training

Eastern Word Smith/Outdoor Shop in Another World: Opening in the Adventurers' Starting Town!/Chapter 106
Update:

Hey guys,
As most of you probably know by now Disqus has stopped providing services to many sites and our site is one of them. Right now, we are in the middle of developing our independent comment system. As of today(26 March 2025), we are releasing the comment with Limited features. There are other features still under development and may take some time to roll out.

As always, please continue to support us. You can show your support in the following ways:

“...Are you really okay with this?”

“Yes. Our shop has Lilia and Lange, and we’re also in a cooperative relationship with the Adventurer’s Guild. I think it’s safer here compared to an ordinary store.”

I don’t have the power to protect Angel myself, but we’ve got reliable employees at our shop. Even if something does happen, I’m sure Rizac and Patrice would step in to help. It might be wishful thinking, but I’m surrounded by dependable people.

“I knew you’d say that, Tetsuya! Angel, don’t worry. If that guy who’s been bothering you shows up, we’ll handle it!”

“Yeah, you’ve got me and Lilia here! Leave it to us!”

Both of them are so reassuring.

“Everyone... thank you so much! I apologize for the trouble I’ll cause, but I’ll be counting on you!”

“Tetsuya, starting today, I’ll be in your care!”

“Yeah, Angel, same here. Looking forward to working with you.”

“Just call me Angel. Everyone, feel free to drop the formalities and just call me by name.”

On this week’s day off, Angel came to the shop. Today, we’re using our day off to conduct her orientation as a new employee. And naturally, since Angel is here...

“Yeah, it looks great on you, Angel! Your big brother will teach you everything, so just leave it to me!”

“Sigh... Brother, please step back and observe from over there.”

Dolph, her doting brother, came to the shop uninvited. Well, if he’s here to help teach her the ropes, it’s actually kind of helpful.

Angel was wearing a windbreaker with the shop’s logo embroidered on it—our uniform. It seems they hurried to get it ready just in time for today. The uniforms we’re currently using were also made by Angel and her team before.

“If it’s about honing customer service skills, leave it to me!”

Honestly, though, Lange has been working here for the shortest time... but he’s enthusiastic, so I’ll let it slide.

Lange had already mentioned that he’d continue working at the shop this week. There’s a chance the stalker might show up shortly after Angel transfers here, and maybe he’s also just excited about having his first junior colleague.

“I’ll be here too, so if you have any questions, feel free to ask me.”

“Thank you, Lange, Lilia. I know I’ll be causing some trouble, but I’m counting on you both!”

“Yeah, you seem to be doing just fine. If you keep serving customers the way you just did, you’ll be great.”

“Thank you very much.”

“...Looks like there’s nothing I need to teach you after all.”

“I need to work harder to keep up myself...”

Well, Angel has been working in retail and food service for quite a while, so it’s natural that she’s more skilled than Lange, who hasn’t even been at it for a month yet. Even Lilia, who has become quite seasoned as a staff member, seems to have found Angel’s skill motivating.

“Ah, Angel, as expected! You’re as radiant as an angel! But with such a beautiful staff member here, there’s bound to be some lecherous men around. I must keep a vigilant eye on them at all times!”

“...”

“...”

“...”

Honestly, Dolph’s reaction to Angel might end up being more of an issue than Angel’s actual customer service skills.

“...Brother, I trust you understand this, but if you cause any trouble, both of us could be fired. Please don’t act rashly!”

“Y-yeah... I got it!”

I’m aware of Dolph’s overprotectiveness when it comes to Angel, but Angel has had years of experience dealing with him. Still, I had to give Dolph a firm warning.

Most of our shop’s customers are male adventurers, so it’s inevitable that some might try to flirt with Angel, given her good looks. But if Dolph lashes out at every single one of them, it would cause problems. In the worst case, we might have to reconsider hiring Angel altogether.

“...If something does happen, I’ll leave it to Lilia and Lange to handle. You two okay with that?”

“Yeah, I can at least try to stop them.”

“Same here. I can manage that much.”

If a customer harasses Angel or acts inappropriately, I think it’s fine to give them a piece of our mind, but going too far could result in Dolph himself getting arrested. That’s why I’ll rely on Lilia and Lange to intervene when necessary.

“...I’m so sorry for the trouble I’m causing.”

“It’s all part of hiring you, so don’t worry about it too much, okay?”

For now, Angel, like Dolph, will have a one-week trial period. We’ll observe how things go. If any issues can be gradually corrected, that’s fine by me.

Still, a stalker, huh... Angel is a beautiful woman, after all. I guess being attractive comes with its own set of challenges.

With Angel joining the shop, it also makes my own average looks stand out even more. Dolph and Lange are strong and handsome, Lilia and Angel are stunningly beautiful, and Fia is adorably cute. Meanwhile, as the manager, my presence just keeps fading into the background... No, it’s all in my head. Definitely just my imagination.
