Although there was some trouble at the town's entrance, we managed to enter without any issues. The gatekeeper still mistakenly believes the wolf is a Silver Wolf, but that shouldn't cause any problems. Wyatt also thinks it's better to let them keep that misunderstanding to avoid unnecessary confusion.

“Is the Guild Master here?!”

As soon as we entered the guild, Wyatt called out toward the back.

Everyone's gaze turned toward us, more so than usual. The attention was probably due to being with a B-rank adventurer party and, of course, the wolf that had become a familiar.

“Ah, Wyatt. The Guild Master is in another room, listening to Kilwell talk about the monsters from the forest…”

“Then take us there. We’ve got additional information.”

“J-Just a moment, please.”

The staff member who appeared quickly retreated to the back.

Alright, I’ve got a little bit of time now, right? I can’t hold back anymore. I’ve been itching to do this, and if it’s only while we wait, it should be fine.

Approaching the wolf, who was standing close by, I started patting its head.

“Fuuooooo.”

So fluffy and soft!

“Hey, Shu, that’s not fair!”

Rio joined in, petting and fluffing it up as well. Sheesh, what a hopeless one. I went for the neck area instead.

“Waffuuu.”

The wolf seemed to enjoy being petted, narrowing its eyes in pleasure.

“You guys… have no sense of tension, do you?”

Wyatt’s exasperated voice rang out, but I ignored it.

If I don’t enjoy this fluffiness now, then when?

“Thank you for waiting. Please proceed to the room in the back.”

But alas, the blissful moment was cut short. Guided by the staff member, we reluctantly headed to the room in the back.

After a knock, the staff announced that the members of “Fang of the Sky Wolf” had arrived, and the door was opened. Inside was a small woman with pointed ears and the adventurer who had been watching over the forest’s entrance earlier.

“Thank you for coming. I heard you have additional information…”

Could this small elf be the Guild Master? She wasn’t much taller than me, with striking blue hair and green eyes—a girl with a distinctive look.

“And who are the two behind you and the wolf…?”

The elf girl gave us a wary look, to which Wyatt replied, “They’re the main topic of today’s discussion.” We took the opportunity to introduce ourselves as well.

“I’m Frances, the Guild Master here.”

“...I’m Kilwell, a C-rank adventurer.”

Surprisingly, the Guild Master referred to herself with “boku.” What kind of guild is this? Judging by appearances might be wrong, but she certainly lacked a sense of authority.

Since there weren’t enough chairs for everyone, only Wyatt sat down next to Kilwell. As for the wolf, it lay on the floor with its chin resting on its front paws, looking relaxed. Still, calling it “wolf” felt lacking. I should think of a name for it.

“First, I need to confirm something. How far has the news about Frosvitnir spread?”

“I’ve only told the Guild Master so far.”

“That’s right. I just heard about it and was considering what to do next.”

“So, you haven’t spoken about it publicly?”

When Wyatt pressed for confirmation, Kilwell nodded repeatedly. It seemed they had taken care not to cause unnecessary panic.

“That’s good to hear.”

With a sigh of relief, Wyatt looked around at everyone and slowly began to speak.

“As for the Frosvitnir… it’s this wolf here, now a familiar.”

“Eh?”

“What?”

The Guild Master and Kilwell both turned their gazes toward the wolf.

“No, no, when I saw it, it was over six or seven meters tall!”

Half-laughing, Kilwell added, “You’re joking, right?” But the Guild Master kept her sharp gaze fixed on the wolf.

Receiving everyone’s attention, the wolf let out a big yawn, seemingly unbothered. When the Guild Master glanced at Wyatt, he nodded gravely.

“It’s unmistakably Frosvitnir…”

The Guild Master gulped audibly.

“Wait, are you serious…?”

“Of course. Why would I lie? It’s been identified through appraisal. Its species name can be easily verified.”

“Appraisal… But the size…”

“High-ranking monsters can alter their size and appearance. That’s what you’d expect from an S-rank monster.”

“...”

Kilwell was left speechless by the Guild Master’s explanation.

Having appraisal skills made things much easier to explain. I was curious about how much could actually be discerned through appraisal.

“I saw this wolf shrink down myself, so there’s no doubt about it,” Wyatt added.

“So, with this Frosvitnir as a familiar, does that mean the immediate threat has been neutralized?”

“Yes, that’s correct.”

“A… familiar…”

“Hmm… If someone from ‘Fang of the Sky Wolf’ had tamed it, I’d understand, but with Shu and Rio here…”

“Yes, that’s correct. I’m the one who tamed this monster. I’d like to have it registered as a familiar.”

“An S-rank… familiar…”

At my words, Kilwell muttered in disbelief, while the Guild Master let out a deep sigh and looked up at the ceiling.
